Beauty editor Sarah Green reveals how to be a golden goddess on W-day...

black pump bottle of fake tan with white writing reading sunbelievable

One of the great things about being a beauty editor is that you get to meet the industry’s top professionals. This week I had tea in the oh-so-lush Covent Garden Hotel with one of my favourite experts, Leighton Denny. I’ve known him for years – you’ve probably heard of his nail range – and now he’s branched out into fake tan with his new Sun Believable range. Why? ‘Because it makes my hair look blonder, my teeth whiter, my body more toned, it hides blemishes and scarring and it gives me confidence,’ he says (not that he’s a shy boy to begin with…).

Anyway, if your wedding is looming he recommends you tan two days before the ceremony ‘to allow you time to go darker if you want a deeper colour or for any tell-tale mistakes to fade’.

But here’s my favourite tip: ‘Don’t brush your teeth just after tanning in case of toothpaste dribbling down to your chin’. Just imagine... “you may now kiss the bride”. Er, no thanks, she looks like a vampire. Eek!
