A bit of a rush

We've sort of set ourselves a difficult task. My h2b proposed to me and I said yes, which is perfectly normal when you love someone. The only trouble is that he wants me to have the dress and the party, pretty much all the things a bride to be wants but we've got an extremely tight budget and he's set the date for November. I've spent the weekend trawling the internet looking for a dress; a venue; and ideas on how to get everything you need when you've got no money.

So I'm getting the dress from ebay - bargain, brand new, never been worn. I've decided to buy wooden roses on stems and make them into a bouquet, or at least I think I have, it's a lot cheaper than fresh flowers and I can keep them forever, I won't be throwing them though!! I'm going for the fairy cake option for my wedding cake, with a small iced fruit cake on the top tier and then a sugar paste spray of roses. I can ice the fairy cakes myself and get a box of sugar paste roses for decoration. I've fallen in love with a Willow Tree cake topper, so I'll have to try to convince H2b that it's a good investment, because we'll be able to put it with the rest of my collection afterwards.

Oh well, enough of this I'd better get back to my trawling duties! lol

A bit of a rush

Hi, I got engaged in Feb and get married in 5 weeks. It has been stressful but it has also meant that there is no changing my mind. I found some great deals in the internet. Not sure where you live but I got a 5 tier wedding cake for GBP350.00 www.cakesbyanne.com. I put together favours for 110 people for the cost of GBP 35.00 www.thefavourstore.com. I have been trawling for 3 months solid!
Good Luck.

A bit of a rush

Good for you Lawbaby! I'd cry if I had to rush because I get so stressed but you're dead right: It's about marrying the person you love and nothing else matters. I saw a gorgeous potential bouquet of fake roses in Dunelm this morning. I don't know if that shop's nationwide but it's an idea.
All the very best of luck with your plans!
