Diary of a B2B

November 19th 2008:
I've ordered some men's hire broachers for H2B to look at. He is set on a Dinner Jacket but unsure as to other details, so to urge him on we had a look through. He rang and spoke to his Dad as Stephen has already been out and bought his shirt and is keen to buy his jacket. Now I only heard only side of the story which involved waistcoats, white suits, and other obscure items along with the fact he wanted everyone in black and white! When he came off we sat a talked about the overall look of the day and that I don't want everyone in black and white, that is our colour scheme but it's not a dictatorship. To explain better I asked him about the weddings we had been to this year, two were turquoise and one was red but it didn't mean that we had to wear those colours. So once we got that sorted out we then talked about his suit. It's getting a bit confusing and H2B isn't entirely sure what he want's then people are throwing ideas at him and wanting to buy there own etc. We have decided that he needs to go and try some on by himself so that he works out what he likes and then filter that information out to everyone involved.

November 18th 2008:
Well we have our final draft for our guest list which has been checked by all sides and agreed on. The total is 92!!! Slightly more then I was hoping for but some people might not be able to come so hopefully the numbers will come down. All I need to do now is make and send out the invites, I've booked some leave in February so I will get them made all in one batch. Sounds like a big task but the invites are going to be quite simple and elegant in design but I'm quite funny in terms of everything looking right so I'll be best doing it myself.

November 17th 2008:
Received confirmation re our wedding gift list so that should be sorted at the beginning of the year. I sent out the latest wedding update email.

Hi All

Good news – I start my new job on 1st December. Can’t wait, I will hopefully be involved in lots of interesting projects and tackling our NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training). Think that requires a new handbag!

Anyway back to the wedding – I nearly had heart failure on Thursday Night, I was having my hair done and chatting about the wedding plans when someone said my bridal shop was closing down! I have never been so stressed – I was training on Friday and unable to check this until Saturday, I’m relieved to say that everything is fine and it is a different shop thank god! My wedding dress is due to arrive in January so rock on.

The hairdressers have been booked and will be coming to me so I can have a nice lie in; I just need to find some pictures of the kind of style I want. I have ideas on my older bridesmaids and the younger one’s I’m happy for them to wear it down with a pretty alice band. I’m going to organise an appointment with a lovely lady who creates fascinator’s for my older bridesmaids once the dresses have been ordered. She will also make the alice bands for the younger one’s too.

I keep getting told that I’m far too organised, but those who know me will know that I just like to get things done, the sooner the better as far as I’m concerned. So the only major things remaining are:
• The older bridesmaids need to get there dresses ordered – think were waiting on Amy at the moment.
• H2B needs to organise his suit
• I need to book the make-up artist
• We need to go shopping for the younger bridesmaid dresses – not until Spring
• And our rooms for the night before need to be booked

Not bad considering we don’t get married for another 7 months, the other bits are just putting together invitations etc.

Well that’s all to report so far so until the next bulletin take care and love ya!

B2B & H2B x x

November 15th 2008:
Received a text from Amy “I will have to go by myself for the dress fitting. I don’t have a weekend off till the 20th December now.” Now I didn’t know how to take this, is she saying that she can’t order the dress until the 20th OR is she saying that she can’t go with Gemma and Beth as it will be a weekday? Ignored it, after all I can do without the petty backwards and forwards of messages.

Maybe you should sit down with Amy and tell her how you feel? She might be really shocked, and if work is really stressful, then she may not have realised she's upset you. Work can be one of the biggest stresses in our lives after all.

Hope that doesn't sound pushy. But you can be the better person and explain to her how you're feeling at least.

Good luck with the wedding! xxx

November 13th 2008:
I got round to booking the hairdressers today for 9am, so I have a bit of a lie in. Arranged my trial which I’m actually going to change so that I can my make-up trial and final dress fitting all on the same day – I’ll get the full effect of how everything goes then as well. So exciting and so much is coming together I have resorted to using an academic diary to jot down appointments and keep track of everything. I’ve been right through and planned out when to start making the invites, dates for RSVPs and of course the Hen night. Keep it with me at all times for those quite moments at work when I can get on with a bit of planning.

November 12th 2008:
Tried calling again, no answer, called a second time and left a message asking her to call me back any time I will have my phone on all day and night so don’t feel like you can’t ring. I then called continually 8 times later on that evening. Later on I got a text saying “Ain’t answered to you as I have been at work busy. Not prepared to be shouted at either. I will go by myself and order the dress. I’m not going with Gemma.” I have since decided that I am not going to contact Amy, she isn’t bothered about the wedding is far to bust at work and won’t answer my calls anyway.
