stolen my thunder big time !!!!!!!!!!!!!

6am christmas day, woke up to a room full of lit candles and H2B sat on the end of the bed poised and ready to pop the question. i immediately said yes !
so chrismas morning about 9am we take the trip to my mothers to break the news to my mum and my 4 sisters. as i excitedly showed off my ring my sister blurted out that she was pregnant.
that's great news, i am really really pleased for her as she has been trying for ages so thats not the problem.
last week H2B and i decided to set the date - 1st august 2009, things are in full swing
i then heard through a friend that the same sisier has announced she is getting married in march so that she's not too big. i was a bit annoyed but not too bad..................
she had agreed to be bridesmaid, she then said she would be too big to try dresses on before the wedding and would i mind if she was'nt a bridesmaid, of course i don't mind i replied, then she said that if the baby is born just before the wedding she won't be coming (noone to babysit) and if she's overdue she won't be coming coz she'll be too big !!!!!!
i said there's no reason for her to not bring the baby as children are allowed or if she is overdue and is too heavy and tired then why can't she come to just the ceremony ? !
i am so upset
any other brides in the same boat ?

stolen my thunder big time !!!!!!!!!!!!!

When me and My Fiance got Engaged we arranged a sit down meal with all our close friends and family and broke the news .. to my horror i got no congratulations from anyone on his side! but my family and friends were so happy for us we had been together for 4 years and been talking about it for a couple of months ... ( while we were on holiday in cape town .. we drove to this lillte beach where he had planned a special surprise to pop the question there were candles everywhere and a table set for two! i had no idea it was coming!, anyway back to it) , his family couldn't care less!! .. 7 months later his older brother got engaged to a girl he's been with for 3 months and his family couldn't have been happier i was totally horrified to the point where i was going to call off the wedding due to the fact i believed his family hated me!! everytime we spoke to them about planning they were like, well your brother is doing this and that hmmm i dont thinks thats a nice idea ... Then at the dinner we were at to announce our date his brother stood up and announced his first! so when we told everyone ours it was like ... yeh ok whatever, i took his mum aside and told her what i was feeling and how hurt i was at her reaction! and now 1 year on they are great and cannot wait for the big day!

Be honest with who ever is hurting your feelings!

stolen my thunder big time !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya,
I'm not having my twin sis as bridesmaid either. She will be giving birth 3 months before the wedding in Mallorca. At first i was upset as everything revolved around the baby but now i accept that perhaps she is right she won't feel great in a bridesmaid dress. When we got engaged my sis was a few months pregnant so everything has really revolved around the pregnancy and baby rather than the wedding. I've just accepted it now and have to keep telling myself it's about me and hubby and nobody else, as long as we have a special day that's all that matters! x

sparkling wine or champagne

i hate champagne on it's own, and at my engagement party, we served tequila instead, but if you wanted something cool, you could always try adding raspberry or peach juice to make a bellini... and then *no-one* will ever know the difference :) plus, it's something a bit different!

sparkling wine or champagne

I agree that there are some very nice sparkling wines out there especially cava! This may sound a little mean but I am having champagne for the top table and sparkling wine for the guests. It was actually my venue that suggested this, they say they serve it alreadt poured so nobody will knwo the difference. Also they told me how much of whatever drink you chose for your toast is actually wasted...apparently even though they don't serve a full glass, so much is wasted, and if this is the case I'd rather the waste be of a cheaper drink. Also I couldn't stand for champagne to be wasted!!!
