weddings, babies, houses and dogs

Sorry it's been a while. wedding planning took a bit of a back seat over christmas and i've only just got back into it.

it's been a difficult time because h2b lost his job before xmas and has yet to find another one. I'm returning to work on a weeks time, i'm excited but scred - i've had 10 months off work on maternity leave. time to return to the real world and use my brain again before it turn to mush!

Ok so where are we up to with planning? I've finally settled on a design for the wedding invitations. i cut the pearlised card in half, printed the invitation information on nice hammered card (personalised with every guests name, naturally). round the edges i've glued rose pink ribbon and then stuck pink sparkly butterflies on each corner. simple yet effective i think. it'll take me a while to put them all together as i have over 50 to make but i'm not planning on sending them out until the beginning of april anyway.

H2b has picked out suits for himself and his BM and ushers. They're pale grey with an ivory waistcoat with rose pink swirls and a rose pink cravat. e looked soo handsome i can't wait to marry him!

I went to see the flourist last week too. For my bouquet i'm having a round, handtied bunch of pink and ivory roses with diamante pins. smaller versions for my bridesmaids, a little posy for my flowergirl, 8 x table centres and an arrangement for the top table at a cost of £360 which i thought was very reasonable.

next week we have a meeting with the vicar regarding some of the church and ceremony details. i think we might be in for a bit of a bollocking as we haven't had chance to make it to church much.

We've been looking at honeymoons and are hopefully planning on going to the Maldives. I dont want to book anything until h2b is back in work though. we're only planning on going for a week, then the week after we're going camping with the kids to breen with a couple of families we know, should be nice!

i think that's just about everything!

Your day will be gorgeous by the sounds of it. I'm on a tight budget too. Where I've let loose on money is the beautiful venue and the fantastic soul band I'm bringing in www.hulagroove.co.uk ..how sweet to have your kids there on your wedding day x

The invites sound lovely, I need to start thinking about orders of service, and you have just reminded me I need to phone about the reading at the service, good luck at church, remember...if god is everywhere and nature is god's temple, does it matter where we thank god for helping us get through a busy day or difficult time? I am sticking with that arguement!
