Cypress Grove, Orlando, Florida
I'm getting married in 149 days in Cypress Grove, Orlando, Florida. I've never been to Florida in my life, but we decided to book two weeks for the honeymoon and because family couldn't attend the wedding here, we moved the wedding there. I'm really looking forward to it, but am also nervous. I've seen photos of the venue and it looks fantastic, but wondered if anyone else out there has chosen Cypress Grove as their venue, or if they have ever seen it before???

Hi Both, I did see something about a Florida thread, but haven't had chance to read it yet, there are quite a few posts on it.
Paula - As far as I know we are getting married at the gazebo, which I would think would be lakeside. What about you? Who did you book yours with? We've used a company called Florida Brides who are based in the UK and US. They've organised everything and we just need to finalise things closer to the time. Have you been to Florida before?

It would take you a while to get through all the posts, anything you need help with, what to see etc....theres no problems. Do you know where you are staying?

We're staying at Quality Inn Plaza on International Drive. The service is the 9th October @ 1pm, but we fly out on the 6th October, so we have a couple of days to relax and get ourselves sorted. When do you get married? Leu Gardens was on the DVD sent to us, but we chose Cypress Grove instead. I did see another venue on there I really wanted, but they weren't using it for 2008.
The price for the wedding includes, venue, minister, co-ordinator, licence, photos, DVD, flowers, limo, I think that's it. We still have to decide on what flowers and what music we want on the DVD and we need to go to the court house when we get there to collect the licence. The co-ordinator is going to meet up with us at the hotel or venue (H2B would prefer hotel so that the venue is a suprise), at a pre-arranged time/date and is going to run through everything with us. I so looking forward to it, I can't believe how quickly this year is going, it only seems like yesterday when I was saying we've got 9 months to go and now its just under 5.:\)

Great International Drive is so close to everything so it is.
I get married 2nd July so 7 weeks today, its flying in. We booked ours ourselves just through e-mail and phone. We have to pick up the licence as well at the courthouse. I havent been to Leu Gardens but my parents were there in August and they said its beautiful but I dont really want to see until the day of the wedding.

I know what you mean. I would love to go there before, but it would mean so much more pulling up the driveway all dressed and ready to go and seeing it for the first time - fingers crossed the weathers lovely!
Not long to go then - I take it you have got your dress etc bought? What colour bridesmaid dresses did you go with? My Dad, brother and sister are the only people going and my sister is going to be a bridesmaid, but none of my family live near me so it's hard work trying to help her decide on a dress.
I've always wanted to go to Florida and now that we are getting married there too, it will make it so much more special. So many people have said that you can get Mickey and Minnie top hot and veils to wear around the park and that you get all sorts of treats etc. I would be too scared to ask for any freebies:p

We have 22 coming with us, this was more than I wanted but I let it go. I am having gold coloured bridesmids dresses, my mil2b made them for me I am so pleased with how they turned out.
this is my dress.
What about you have you got your dress picked out?
You can buy mickey top hat ears and mini bridal ears and im trying to talk h2b into wearing them so far no good but I will be wearing mines
In October you should get beautiful weather, it has cooled down by then and is so beautiful. Im going just at the start of the summer so I am hoping to avoid the storms

oh i'm the 28th October. we booked everything thru Virgin and we arre staying at the Hyatt on Lakebuena Vista. i'm still a bit unsure on what i have left to organise in Florida. I think I need to sit down and go thru everything properly but at the moment i'm trying to organise a meal for after our ceremony. we have about 11 booked so far but there is still about 4 people who say they are coming but not booked yet.
If you go on the Florida thread just skip straight to the end. there is far too much crap to read thru as we not only talk about weddings but everything else happening in our lives!

Yeah I have chosen a dress. I ordered it in January and was told it is due in this month, so just waiting for the call now. How are you transporting your dress? On the virgin website it states it has to be in a hard case wrapped in tissue paper? I'm going to see if the shop can show me how to wrap it.
