Hi there!

I am 5'1" and my H2B is a wonderful 6'6"! I know most people think Im crazy, but you can't help who you fall for! I have two reservations:

Firstly, how can I try to make photographs about us, and not just our height difference? I love him for being tall, and in return he loves me for being petite... But I would love to get some tips on ways to photograph well!

Secondly, are there any Petite B2B's, worried about the first dance? When i dance with my fiancee I am up to his armpit!!!

Am I foolish for worrying about people's opinions?

Just go with the flow! I'm 5ft and hubby if 6ft3. To be honest, we're just so used to the height difference that we just acted natural with each other and didn't fuss over how things would look in the photos. I had chatted with our photographer before though and she took photos from a inventive angles which I'm sure helped! She later photographer my hubby acting as best man at a friend's wedding- the bride and groom in that instance where both around 5ft2/3 and they managed to avoid him looking like a giant!

You are lucky though. I am 5'10" and my h2b and my father are both 5'11" so I have to wear flats. But you can get away with high heels. Take advantage of the height difference-you could have a dance where the man has to pick the woman up, and you can add to your height with tiaras, and heels

Good point Louise... but trust me, it doesn't always feel lucky to be petite! I guess it's the usual problem of wanting to have what you don't have (ie. I have straight hair but always wanted it curly!) or always thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. There is a limited to how much height heels can give you and I was adamant that I didn't want a tiara or BIG hair as it can make you look like you're trying to be taller- I'm usually comfortable being small and dainty so wanted to feel this way on my wedding day!

I couldn't agree more! Whilst I love my high heels - (5 1/2 inches for the big day!) big hair and tiara's aren't me at all. I am having a triple headband, made of tiny crystals which is very dainty, and my hair as a result will have to be reasonably low...

i have a small childrens step from ikea ive looked on the web and its not on so must only be instore. anyway its about 30cm x 20cm (maybe a bit bigger) but could possibly be hidden under your dress for your most important ones. it seems a lot of faffing about though but thought id share anyway x

Hello little ladies - I'm 5'1 and my H2B is 6'5 so I know where you're coming from. Our friends used to laugh when we first got together - lots of comments about Giants and Mice. ho ho ho...I'm a little concerned about the photos but more about the first dance! Anyone any ideas - I had thought about a little box with wheels (but only for a second!). I have also found some quite elegant platforms (contradiction in terms!) for the big day which should add 10 cms, be hidden by the dress but should be quite comfy.

First reply on site as this is something I actually know about! I'm 5'3 (nearly!) and h2b is 6'4. If there are steps at your venue make the most of them - one of my friends was also in similar situation and they have some lovely photos of him 'helping' her down the steps. Also - my h2b is often picking me up, so we're going to have a photo of him carrying me - in an 'over the threshold' style photo. I think it's fun as you can be more creative - so many wedding photos are just everyone standing in a line!

I'm so happy I've found this thread I've been really worried about this I'm 5'1 and H2b is 6'1. I'm getting married in Thailand and was going for a beach wedding until I realised I wouldn't be able to wear any shoes lol so now I'm going for a beach side wedding so all I need to do is find killer heels!!! The first dance is scaring me as well

Yes, I'm not alone! I'm 5ft 1' and h2b is 6ft 4'. Great idea about the steps, definitely going to do that! Too be honest i like the fact that h2b is much bigger than me and lots of people comment how cute we look so I guess should just roll with it... however dancing really is a problem!!!

Hi everyone, im only 4'10 & a size 6 and my H2B is 6'3 im really worried about our photos as when im with him i dont think about the height difference until i see a photo of us standing next to each other, then i feel we look odd!
