Can be 3 months or 3 weeks, to be honest. I wouldn't book a wedding in 2009 though.

depends entirely on which court and how quick they deal with it. nisi is not the final decree anyway - thats your absolute, which you can apply for 6 weeks and one day after the nisi is pronounced.
what stage is it at now? from petition to absolute we usually say at work (if everything goes to plan) 8 months but no guarantee and that's with knowledge of how long our local court take! xx

are you the petitioner? when you say 'signed by other party' i presume you mean the acknowledgement of service has been returned by the other party??

This is my experience. My H2B's divorce came through last year. It should have taken about 8 months start to finish (2 kids and a house involved) it took longer but only because her solicitor left the company halfway through and it took ages to get the new one up to speed. It can be quite quick - at least the ex wife has signed - that's a good start!! My H2Bs ex was a pain in the arse at every,.. single,.. stage of it but that's another story.
For what it's worth if you feel anything like I did at the time (just wanting to move on and get married to the man I love) I sympathise with you on this subject,. It can be a very long, drawn out frustrating process. But if you can stick together through it makes you stronger and if you have picked the right fella it is soooooooo worth it. We have got through his former marital house sale (fell through at last minute 3 times in a year - he had to pay the mortgage on his own for this time), divorce, consent order for finances, custody arrangements for his son and former step daughter through the courts, consent order for the children, CSA, the works. People can't believe we're still in one piece and together. But if you're a team and you share the frustrations and the pain then you can also share the happiness and the freedom afterwards - as a couple and as a force to be reckoned with! I hope this helps and I didn't jump the gun with this reply - but this is just my experience. I'm sure other people have had similar experiences and would say the same. Bottom line is, if she has signed her bit and returned it and all the paperwork is in order it can happen really quickly. Maybe just suggest to your H2B to really chase the solicitors to make sure they are filing all the paperwork at court as soon as physically possible xxx

So you've had the nisi and now are ready to apply for direction? Well, from my experience, it's usually about 4-6 weeks if it's straightforward and agreed - if there is anciallry relief and other issues to resolve it can - and usually does - take a lot longer

My h2b had his absolute come through 2 weeks ago. After 5 years his ex-wife finally agreed to a divorce (even though she wass the one who had the affair and ran off). She applied in February and h2b signed the consent in March and the nisi court hearing was the end of May. We had agreed before submitting the forms that there would be no items for the court to decide on and everything was divided and agreed between us. (It took 5 years to reach this stage) and no lawyers were involved. So all told from submitting the forms to absolute took 5 months. Hope that helps and good luck.
