Subject : Our beautiful wedding - lots of pictures!
Hi ladies, I finally have the professional pics on my computer so its time to add my report. If you dont like reading lots of detail (or should be actually doing some work at work?! lol just skip to 5th June which was the day of the wedding)
I started writing this report in my 'wedding journal' while I was on honeymoon so it skips around with the dates a bit starting with the day I'm writing it and going back to days before the wedding
15th July 2009
Well a bit of time has passed since my last update and I'm now a married woman! The new Clare Khan (first time I have written my new name!) writes this from the balcony of our gorgeous villa deep in the Langkawi rainforest. I am surrounded bu the sounds of all the wierd and wonderful animals living here and its amazing.

Wedding report continued..
I cant believe its all flown by so quick, it feels like one minute we were planning the wedding with ages to go and the next were married and already half way through our honeymoon.
I wanted to write all about the wedding so I can try to remember every wonderful bit and keep the report to treasure with all the other wedding bits. I'll start by saying something which I have a feeling I'll repeat! It was beautiful, the most special, emotional and best experience of my life so far. I feel like crying when I think about it and I'm not even a very teary kind of girl!
I'll start right from the beginning which I guess would be with my last working day as a Miss.
2nd June 2009
I felt really happy, it was my last day at work for 3 weeks and it was all finally starting. When I got to work my desk had been decorated by my friend Carly. She had put ivory wedding balloons up and covered my desk with pink metallic hearts. She then came in with the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake she had promised to make which was lovely and went down a storm with the team.
They had done a collection from me and all descended on me with gifts and stood telling me to hurry up when I was still on the phone to a client. They gave us some lovely gifts, a gorgeous large picture frame which goes perfectly in our bedroom, some Mr and Mrs mugs, love them! a box for special memories which is great for all the sentimental bits you have and a gorgeous honeymoon photo album which matches our guest book.
The lovely ladies at Tarriqs work had also decorated his desk and even made him a stunning fluffy tiara to wear ha ha. We both came home on the train that night armed with champagne, gifts and cards feeling so excited!

4th June 2009
We were getting married tomorrow! Suddenly it all felt too soon and I wished I had more time to do things, even though we didn’t really have anything left to do and I had been waiting for this day to arrive for a year and a half. Tarriqs brother Sander had arrived in the UK from Holland the day before ..
(writing in journal interrupted here to pop to the spa where we spent a blissful two hours in an open air villa, looking out to the glorious Andaman sea enjoying full body aromatherapy massages, followed by mud baths, body wraps and head massages. Bliss!)
Ok I'm back in the villa with a vodka and cranberry lounging back on the day bed, if only every day could be a honeymoon day..
Anyway Sander was an usher and had not had a suit fitting as the last time he came over from Holland was Christmas and the shop was closed. First thing that day we took him to try his and collect the rest. We were praying the measurements we had been given by him were correct. Unfortunately Sanders comment that he may have eaten too many KFC's proved to be a problem..as disaster! his waistcoat did not fit! Oh no i thought, this will be a problem. The waistcoats had been made specially and I didn't think they would have any more. This is where I would strongly recommend Anthonys in Billericay high street, Essex as they really went the extra mile. Not a problem, the lady said, we'll take it to the factory now and have a new back put on. You can come and collect it at 5pm tonight! So we arranged for Tarriqs dad to collect it and went on our way to distribute the rest of the suits...
We dropped my dads and our page boys suits off to my parents telling them to try them to make sure everything was ok as soon as possible, then off we went to collect the cake. Except then my phone rang.. it was my mum, dads trousers were now too tight! Anthonys to the rescue again, dad went back and they got him some new trousers, altered the legs then and there and sent him off home again. I will be writing to thank them for their excellent service.
We collected the cake, which was a simple ivory icing covered chocolate cake from M&S. When I looked at it at home I have to admit I seriously contemplated eating one of the delicious looking iced roses trailing prettily down the side of the cake but I was strong and set about getting my things together to go and stay at my parents for the night before..
View from the spa

I felt strange leaving my home that night knowing that when I came back things would be different, that I would know all the secrets of our wedding. All the things I have wondered and dreamed about.. will I cry? will he love my dress? how will it all feel? Will I be full of smiles or full of nerves? Soon I would have the answers to all the questions and it felt strange and surreal.
We had a more emotional goodbye than would normally befit one night apart because I think both of us were thinking that the next time we saw each other would be when I walked down the aisle in front of the watchful eye of all our guests. A nerve wracking thought!
I went into the house I grew up in and went to the room all the wedding things were in. Hanging on the curtain pole were all the outfits, my dress (turned away from view as much as possible as my mum was trying to hide it from my dads view while still letting it hang) My dads and page boy Rorys suits, the two bridesmaids dresses (my sister and cousin) and my mums outfit. It all felt SO exciting
I had a quiet dinner with my mum and dad as my sister was at a friends having her hair and nails done, Before I knew it, it was 10pm and I still needed to do my nails. I said good night to my mum and dad and headed up to my old room which is now the room my sister uses, Her old room is now an office so sharing with her was my only option. Now, I love my sister dearly and we get on great but at almost 25 her room is still generally a tip. Add to this fact that it is also fuschia pink, and you can imagine it isn't a room that promotes a calm and restful sleep! She was in the middle of packing to go away and there were clothes everywhere! I cleared some out of the way and put my gift from Tarriq and a card from my mum on the side, ready for the morning, Then I sat up in bed doing my nails.
Surprisingly I actually slept OK that night. The only thing that woke me up was my cat Bodie who was still having a tantrum at having moved house that day (stays with my parents when we go away). He was whinging and scrabbling at my parents bedroom door at 4am so I got up 'come on then you spoilt little fruitcake' I said to him and he trotted off happily out the back door, I thought about staying up but decided it really was too early and went back to bed. Once again I fell asleep..

5TH JUNE - Our Wedding day!!
5am
I got up, I actually could have slept longer but I wanted time alone to open my present and cards before my family got up. I put the kettle on and stood opened my mums card while it boiled. It said 'From a beautiful baby to a beautiful bride, I'll try not to cry' I read it with tears already dripping down my face.
Then I read Tarriqs card and the tears continued as I read how he could not wait to marry me and spend his life with me. I was sniffing away and wiping my tears when I opened the box with his gift inside...
Then I laughed my head off at the same time and felt a huge rush of affection for him as I saw the hideous wrapping. He had told me the day before he had trouble and that it was bad so no-one should see it but it was without a doubt the worst wrapping I have ever seen and it really made me smile. Once I had stopped laughing and crying to myself I opened the box and inside was a wooden box with an engraved message to me on the front, inside was a gorgeous, very sparkly watch which I had admired on the arm of his cousin a few months earlier.
I then decided to leave the coffee and have a shower before the madness began. I took my unopened coco mademoiselle perfume, shower gel and body lotion to the bathroom and had a long luxurious shower wondering what the day had in store for us.
By the time I came out my family were up and the cars were being loaded to get everything to the venue. We had a quick breakfast and set off for the venue. My heart felt like it was in my throat I was so excited. My sister Louise had put ribbons on the cars which turned out to be very useful as my other bridesmaid Denise wanted to meet us along the way as she wasn't quite sure how to get there. When we were nearly at the Brentwood roundabout she called to see which exit we would be going off at, unfortunately I dont have much of a sense of direction and am more 'I'll know when I see' about these things. Suddenly she said have you got ribbon on your car? I can see you!
The next couple of hours were a bit crazy for me with setting up the tables as most of it only I knew how I wanted it. The favours for the ladies were heart shaped bath bombs in organza bags with a pearlised luggage tag attached with a love quote on. Each one was different and I wanted everyone to have one that I thought would mean more to them. But this did mean only I could add them. The men had lindt chocs (the red ones) in organza bags with a message saying thank you on them, except for the page boy who I gave a roald dahl quote about magic and my h2b who I gave a love quote.
Finally I was done with the tables and went upstairs to the room my bridesmaids were getting ready in. I sat down and read some of the messages I had received, including the one from my h2b saying how much he loved his presents. I had silver fourleaf clover cufflinks made for him with his intials engraved. I had left his things on the side the night before with numbers to open them. No 1 was the cuff links, no2 was a card telling him how each leaf symbolised love, hope, faith and luck. I also told him how I think he is one in a million and to keep calm, we were going to have an amazing day. No 3 was a picture from the boudoir album I had done for him.
I jumped in the shower again and then Denise told me the flowers had arrived. I threw my clothes back on and ran down to see them. I loved them..

Back upstairs Den gave me a croissant as she was keen to start on the champagne. Lou's hair seemed to be taking some time and I just sat quiety munching and drinking while my mum and aunt popped in and out of the room.
Thenn Kirsty made a start on my hair. Suddenly we didn't seem to have much time and by the time she finished I ended up putting my make up on in a rush. The photographers were waiting to come and take some pictures of us and I was still in a white vest! Kirsty helped me into my dress while the bridesmaids went to get the photographers as Kirsty said they usually like to take pictures of the dress being laced.
Kirsty told Den and Lou to hold my hands while she tugged about with the laces and I was wobbling about all over the place ..
