Subject : Babies Due in June 2010

Right it nearly went again Rhubarb so I hope you don't mind but I wanted to start this in the hope it won't go away, if it does then I guess we will just have to look for it to keep in touch eh!

I am so so so so excited about Friday, I can't seem to control myself, keep telling myself to get a grip, it seems to be dragging as does anything you are really looking forward to.

Suffering from a cold today, hope it goes soon. Kind of thing I would usually drown with as many sensible drugs as I am allowed but can't when you are PG, paracetamol isn't really doing a lot. Got a red nose and everything, even my nearly 4 year old commented on my red nose and insisted he got Daddy to show him.

Hope all is well with June 2010 mummies to be.

Lots of love NJ x

Hi NJ, well done, hopefully this might get the June ladies rounded up! I do think it would be nice if we could get everyone comparing notes and keeping each other updated.

Shall we start a list of when everyone is due? I think you're early June, NJ, right? I'm 30th so I'll be bringing up the rear, as it were!

Sorry to hear you've got a cold. I'm just plain cold. I've been working on alpines on a rock garden all day and it certainly felt like I was up a mountain, I can tell you! No molly coddling for baby Rhubarb! About to dive in a hot bath to thaw out.

Right, June ladies, don't be shy, join the thread!

I know, its cool eh!

I wish my memory wasn't so rubbish, I can't remember the other lady who had recently been in touch with us on the other post, can you?

By the way how do you do all that manual labour you nutter (meant in the nicest possible way), I have got so much respect for you). I get totally pooped at a shop around the supermarket and I am not the most unfit person in the world, bump tends to get really heavy too. You must be feeling something by now, any little flicks that you have noticed? If not it will be iminent I beat you.

Ha ha, well last night I fell asleep on the sofa at about 7pm, I was so knackered. So I think it is getting increasingly hard. Not felt any bump activity yet, but I think the cat might have detected something last night. She sleeps under the duvet in between us, like a long furry draft excluder, and last night when she burrowed her way in she seemed to be unusually interested in my bump. She gave it a couple of licks and prodded it very gently with her paw, then cuddled up next to it, purring. I wondered if she could hear a heartbeat, cats' hearing is so amazing. In any case I do think it must be nice for the baby to hear purring!

I think the other lady was Jules. And I think Emsyj is another Junebug but she seems to be only on here sporadically.

How's the red nose? Feeling any better?

Hello!!!!!! Making one of my sporadic appearances lol!!!! I am too busy doing online baby shopping to come on here much at the moment, but fear not I will keep checking in!
I'm due 13th June and expecting a girl, very very happy that everything looks good on the scan etc. Have started to feel a bit of movement, but as I have an anterior placenta it's a bit muffled at the moment.

Funny you should say that about the cat Rhubarb, our newer cat (not avatar pic - he's an old timer) sleeps between us every night and loves getting under the duvet, but it didn't occur to me that it had anything to do with my pregnancy - just thought it was a sign of winter setting in!!! So maybe she 'knows'? Hubby's parents have a dog who now insists on sitting on me whenever I'm round there and they say it's because he knows I'm pregnant!

Have you seen all the fab web exclusive offers on Mamas & Papas??? They've got the baby sleeping bags (they call them 'dreampods') for half price on a few designs, I've ordered 2 in 0-6 months and 2 in 6-18 months, plus a moses basket.

Well I am not surprised, just look after yourself you gardner you!

The cat story was lovely, they so pick up on the pregnancy ESPECIALLY the girl cats, I have a boy and a girl. The boy just gets annoying to me when I am PG but princess just appears ever now again, usually pays me no attention, much more a Daddy's girl, but she tucks up right around bump and purrs like made like she knows, its bizarre but yours poking bump is just so cute!!!

Ah yes that is right, so ladies if you are out there join us be good to hear from you!! Hear how you are getting on.

I actually think the cold might be on its way but still got a red nose and head feels really stuffy. I was pregnant this time of year with JJ and I didn't catch a thing but then I took my vitamins (pregnicare from the go get with JJ) this one I found really hard to swallow the blinkin things so many a time I didn't take it, not good, slap on the wrist for me and huge guilty conscience.

Hi Emsyj! Well we shall indeed look forward to your sporadic appearances. How funny that you both have animal anecdotes too - there must be something in it then. I thought I was just a crazy cat lady reading too much into things! They are so perceptive though.

I just hope the cats are ok when the baby appears, I'd hate it if they felt neglected. It's probably my biggest baby-related worry, which says a lot about my maternal priorities!

NJ don't worry about the Pregnacare thing. Folic acid only makes a difference right at the start of a pregnancy, so taking stuff now doesn't really make much difference. Do you eat cereal? It's rammed full of folic acid so if you eat that then you've done your bit. I only take it to keep hubby happy. He's set an alarm on his phone to go off every evening at 8pm to remind me to take it. I think it's his way of being involved and responsible. Well that and shouting at me for climbing on the greenhouse roof on Sunday, anyway.

I'm refusing point-blank to buy a cat net, which is an indicator of my maternal priorities ha ha! My older cat (see avatar pic) has actually met a few babies and young children and he is scared of new babies but fairly tolerant once they get to about age 2. My godson is totally cat-obsessed (his parents have 2 dogs) and they are quite patient with him and will eat cat biscuits out of his hand, which he LOVES. It's good training for them for when we have a child in the house full time!!!

Hello emsyj, so glad you joined us, added you to the list above.

Thanks for the Mamas and Papas heads up on their sale, must have a look. My girl cat is a nightmare for sneeking in places she shouldn't to get comfy and the moses basket with my first was one of those but she got the message after a while and it was very rare that bubs was left alone with her for more than a few seconds, if I knew I was going to be longer (toilet visit or such like) I would shew the pair of the cats out of the room bubs was in.

Rhubarb, yes I eat cereal every morning, loving shreddies at the moment with blueberries on top. Plus I have been drinking pomegranet and blueberry juice and apparantly that has folic acid in it too. I think that is so sweet your hubby doing the alarm thing, I do think they need to feel involved and that is lovely! Bless him.
