Subject : Meeting with photographer

Hi!

We’re meeting with a photographer for the first time tomorrow.
What kind of questions do we need to ask and what things should we be looking out for?

Thanks x

Hi i am still looking for a photogrpaher,

But have met with a couple.

generally you have a look through their sample albums, and they go through their packages and say whats included etc.

In terms of question I guess its a case of making sure they cover everything you want! - and what options you have.

e.g photobooks, disc, parent albums, how long you get photography - all day? whether you can supply a list of must have shots, whether you can opt to have and picture in Black & white. and whether you'll get final approval of album layout etc.

Hope this helps a bit? I would also be interest in responses to this!

xx

Hi there,

we met with ours at our home. He showed us some of his work and asked us what sort of pictures we wanted.

He also advised on types of shots that he would take and where. We also discussed how long he was spending with us, prices and amount of photos we would get etc. He is meeting with us a few weeks before the wedding to go through everything again.

Hope this helps.

make sure there are no hidden costs. ask how long they will be there for on the day. ask how many cameras they take with them on the day (if one breaks they should have another one with them, make sure you see several full albums, not just highlights! ask to see any rainy albums....you can never guarentee the weather on the day so you want to make sure their rainy albums are also lovely! i can't think of anymore right now....!

Read through his website once more too before you go as thats what I just did and it answered loads of things. I think I would want oknow how much for extra albums, and if he doesn;t do the carriages package then what time does he stay till in the evening???Ishe straight off after the first dance?????

Can't wait to find out how it went!!!!!!!!
Speak Wednesday!

You generally need to ask these kinds of questions;

- Will he do reportage or formal, or a mixture of both?
- How long will he spend with you?
- Do you need to provide him with a shot list?
- What are the prices of his packages and what is included in each one?
- For each package, how many photos will he take and how much involvement will he give you on choosing them?

Ask to see examples, and definitely ask to see rainy albums - the best photographers can make it look extraordinary in the rain and you should be able to tell whether he can cope with it.
