Subject : UPDATED:Anyone had painful cramps that last about 10 mins?
For the last week and a half I've been getting pain really low down from hip across to other hip during the night. It lasts for about 10 mins then turns into a dull period pain ache which I know is normal. I went to Egypt last week so not sure if I have a bug as tummy seems upset too if you know what I mean? Off to get a scan this morning so hopefully will know more then...

Hi Lisa
How far gone are you sweetie?
These cramps are pretty common unfortunatly but fingers crossed scan will help show all is ok.
I experienced bleeding from 12+2, always read that bleeding was a sure sign there was a problem with baby, I had no pain with it at the beginning either and all turned out things where fine with baby, I have a low lying placenta, bleeding has stopped it stopped at about 19 weeks and fingers crossed the placenta will move up. I just babbled all that to try and reassure you somehow to try and stay positive, I am sure everything is fine and these cramps are normal, I wish you the best of luck at your scan with a lovely healthy bean.

Went for my scan and baby is about 2mm with a heart beat. I am about 6 weeks now. All is fine and baby is in right place so they think I've picked up a bug. They've done loads of other tests - pressure, temp, urine etc so just got to take it easy. Feel so happy that I've seen the baby although it is tiny! Couldn't stop crying - how silly!

So glad everything is ok with you and bubs. I had a scan at 6 weeks due to bleeding and its just a tiny dot with a heartbeat but you feel so protective of it dont you. Hope you get better soon and everything is easy sailing (well, as easy as it can be) for the next 9 months. Make sure you take care of yourself.

Its not silly at all, its a highly emotional time sweetie, just so releaved for you that everything is ok.
I didn't realise you where early days, I would have been able to totally identify with this, my first pregnancy at 6 weeks I went to see the doctor for the normal appointment and explained about very similar pains although concentrated in one area and to be on the safe side she sent me in for a scan to ensure it wasn't eptopic, even though I know it was just a "to be on the safe side" thing you still presume the worst, my h2b was beside himself, worse than me. Baby looked just like a bean so called it bean until it started looking more like a baby. Went on to have a very healthy pregnancy (sickness we will ignore as although I didn't feel healthy, baby was) and a great birth so I am sure this is what will happen for you.
Hope the pains ease up, they should do weather its a bug or simply your body adjusting to being pregnant.

Weirdly the pains stopped after I'd had the scan! Unless coincidentally the bug cleared up as that was about a week after coming back from Egypt! Or perhaps I relaxed and it went away! Just got a bit of sickness and feel tired but not sleeping great but can cope with that! Thanks for you help girls..
