Subject: One month on - gutted
Hi all
Well I have been married a month today and this last month has been one hell of a roller coaster.

Wedding day was really amazing, loved it, everything I could have dreamed of and the honeymoon in Cuba was amazing too.

Got a message from step-mum Dad was in hospital on honeymoon so was planning on stopping to see him on way home, as he fell ill while away in York and we flew into Manchester. We did see him Christmas Eve and Boxing Day then the next day he took a turn for the worse and was unconscious all week, passing away on New Years Eve.

This should have been such a happy time for all of my family and now our world has fallen apart, we haven't had the official photos yet or anything.

So sorry to hear such awful news- we lost my nan at Christmas, only weeks after our wedding too and totally out of the blue so I really do sympathise. I just keep reminding myself that she got to see the wedding. I don't know what to say to help because I'm sure you feel even worse than I do. Big hugs xxx

There's not a lot I can say but you will always remember he was at your wedding and no doubt so proud of you-and that's something u have to remember.
I can't even imagine how u feel after being on such a high, but u sound like u have family around u and as long as you stay open and talk about how you're feeling, u will begin to heal...

I hope youre ok,

L

Hun, I am so so sorry. Puts my post-wedding blues into perspective.

I have been through a very sad loss in the past - so I do understand a little of your pain. The only advice I can give is to be kind to yourself, stay strong, and try and remember the happy times. Telling you to keep smiling is silly, as of course you aren't - let grief run its course, surround yourself with family and your lovely new husband, and remember how proud and happy your Dad will have been on your big day.

Thinking of you. Lots of love.

I'm so sorry to hear that Cebpickle. I don't really know what to say other than to try to remember the good times if you can (I know at the moment it's probably all too raw), and I'm so glad that you got to spend your wedding day and Christmas with him. Take time to grieve and take care of yourself xxx
