ABBREVIATIONS

Hi Ladies (and the possible gents which we may get)...

Following an early post, thought I would put a list of abbreviations ('borrowed' off another site) to aid any newbies on this forum with all the lingo...

They are:-

AF - Aunt Flo (Menstruation)
BBT - Basal Body Temperature
BD - Baby Dancing (sex during fertile time)
BF (BFing) - Breastfeeding
BFN - Big Fat Negative
BFP - Big Fat Positive
CB - Clear Blue test
CBD - ClearBlue Digital test
CBFM - ClearBlue Fertility Monitor
CD - Cycle Day
CM - Cervical Mucus
CP - Cervical Position
EDD - Estimated Due Date
DD - Darling Daughter
DS - Darling Son
D&C - Dilation & Curettage
DPO - Days Post-ovulation
EPT - Early Pregnancy Test
EWCM - Egg White Cervical Mucus (the most fertile CM)
FMU -First Morning Urine (highest in certain hormone levels and best to use for taking an HPT)
FR - First Response Test
FSH - Follicle Stimulating Hormone (hormone that controls egg growth in ovaries)
GP - General Practitioner
HPT - Home Pregnancy Test
IUI - Intra-Uterine Insemination
IVF - In Vitro Fertilization
LAP - Laparoscopy (examination of uterus, tubes, and/or ovaries with laperoscopic camera)
LH - Luteinizing Hormone (surges to trigger ovulation; OPKs monitor this hormone)
LMP - Last Menstrual Period (first day of LMP used as first day of pregnancy)
LO - Little One
LP - Luteal Phase (time between ovulation and AF)a.k.a.2WW - 2 week wait
MC (or M/C) - Miscarriage
MMC - Missed Miscarriage
MW -Midwife
OH - Other half
OV - Ovulate/ or ovulation
OB/GYN - Obstetrician/Gynecologist
OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit (tests LH levels)
POAS - Pee on a stick
PCOS - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
PG - Pregnant
PMS - Pre-menstrual Syndrome
SD - Superdrug pregnancy test
TTC - Trying To Conceive
(number) + (Number) eg 10+2 - Number of weeks and days pregnant

If anyone can think of any others, feel free to include them.

Hey Hollylovesgreys I think it means week's wait - as in 2WW = two weeks' wait.

What does SS mean?

This is a great help! Wish I had read this before I read a previous post! Would have made more sense! Lol!

SS -- Safe Sex (?) I googled it and it's what it came up with lol
