Hi everyone,
I just wondered if anyone has the same worries as me that you'll look very young on your big day? I'm actually 24 so not very young, but I look a lot younger (around 17) and I find most weddingy people (people in dress shops, photographers and vendors at wedding fairs) don't seem to take me seriously, or I can tell they're judging me. Anyone else feel the same way? I'm also trying to find ways to look slightly older for the big day haha - my friends all think I'm mad!
Worried I'll look like a child bride!

definitely ignore them. im only 20 and look 20, so a lot of people have said im young. but it doesnt matter. as long as all your family and friends know your serious and not some child then what does it matter! if people like dress shops and wedding fayres dont take you seriously they werent worth putting your money into them! be yourself! xxx

I'm 22; I look my age. However, I am quite short. I'm more afraid I'll look young compared with all the other women, esp since I have more male than female friends and my fiance has more female friends and he - and so they - Are all older than me.
I get a mixture in shops and things. Some people just accept my age others seem to look at me like they're not sure I'm serious.

I look pretty young for my age too, 23 but still get ID'd everywhere! One women I worked with actually laughed when I said I was getting married as she said I was too young. Rude cow

Don't worry at 24 you are not a child bride no matter what other people think. I got married last year at 23 and I think it is nice to look young as a bride. Of course brides look wonderful at any age, but it will be nice to look back at pictures with you looking young and in love!

I've been lucky so far in that nobody has made a comment or been rude about my age. I am 22. However, in a non-wedding related incident I was in hospital a few weeks ago and the doctor nearly fell of the chair when I told them how old I was. She thought I was 16 tops!! I keep telling myself I'll be the smug one when I'm 40 and still look 30 
I am a little worried I will look 'child bride' as you put it, but I'm armed with 4 inch heels, planned hair that will add height and hopefully the right make up. I don't want to look a lot older, but would at least like to pass for 20!

I'm nearly 29 and still get ID'd for alcohol, so don't worry about it! Like Joeyclare says, just remember when everyone else looks old, you will still look young - people spend a lot of money trying to achieve what you have naturally!
I am currently 22! And I do get funny looks sometimes, but if my mum is their, all shops and venders are my best friend!
Just think in the 50's most people were married around 16-18years old!!
My mum keeps telling me, age is on my side.. as I can wear certain dresses, that I prop couldn't wear if I was older, but then again I've tried on dresses and they look to old for me lol
