Ok, I am totally stuck!

It seems that to get married in Hampshire that you have to be looking to spend atleast 7k on a wedding (60 people ceremony, 120 reception)

I dont really want a church wedding so looking at:
Barns,
Golf Clubs
Hotels

Problem is I want a contempary building/roomss. None of the "pub carpets" as I call them lol.
I would also lobve it to be set in acres of land, purely because I want to feel that Im a million miles away from "life" when its my wedding day, I want it to be me, my H2B and my guests....like theres no one else in the world.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....any ideas, suggestions?????

Have you looked/ thought about:

Exbury Gardens?

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens?

Dibden golf club (think they can only do the reception there though?)

Spinnaker Tower? (no acres of land, but very contemporary)

I'm still at the looking stage myself and am struggling to find places which aren't going to cost an arm & leg!

Unsure wherebouts in Hants you are based? But I have come across a couple of venues nearer the Berkshire/Surrey region which appear to be fairly reasonable...I would suggest checking out Farnham House Hotel in Farnham and Manor House Hotel in Guildford.

Don't know where about in hants you are, but the HMS warrior in portsmouth, was quite reasonable in price (catering in done by another company - who you have to use, but seemed pretty flexible and they were very nice.) Warrior might not be for everyone, but I liked it - it ended up being my 2nd choice tho - purely due to mother in law to be putting doubts in our head!

Our chosen venue is goodwood park hotel, which I know isn't in hants, but not far away if your on Sussex side of Hampshire. There prices are surprisingly very good (although we are getting married on Thursday in Dec!) And it certainly fits the bill for being in the middle of nowhere!

Have you seen this place - http://www.hillplace.co.uk/weddings.htm
I grew up around here, it's lovely. There's also New Place - http://www.devere.co.uk/our-locations/new-place.html. It doesn't seem to have it's own website but I've known people marry here before and it's lovely.
We are getting married in the New Forest - http://www.stanwellhousehotel.co.uk. Not acres of land, but completely gorgeous. There's also Balmer Lawn in the New Forest which is old, lush and has lovely big gardens.

I agree with you about the prices though, we've had some crazy prices!
Good luck x

Have you looked at Princess Caroline? Its a lovely boat with loads of space for eating and dancing and you get all the space and views of the solent. Very reasonable to hire. Alternatively, what about the isle of wight? There are some great and very reasonable venues over there.

Hi

I am a (fully insured and qualified) Wedding Co-ordinator based in Hampshire and am currently offering free Wedding planning services (e.g venue searching) or local brides in exchange or a reference to put on my website.

What I would do is research based on your specific requirements and budget and will present you with a pack containing three venues and their individual information for you to look at. If you choose one of them I can visit it with you (if you wish) or if you wanted you could visit them and when you've chosen one you like I can talk with the venue and try and negotiate a discount for you

If this is something you are interested in, please PM me!
