I'm curious as I've got mine still in the safe. Handing them back at the time just seemed spiteful and he never asked for them back. It was me that ended the marriage 5 years ago and noone else was involved. Now I don't quite know what to do with the rings. If I sold them, do I give the ex half and where do I go to sell them? Gold is on the up but people aren't really buying rings with stones in...not that I can find anyway.

you could get them made into a necklace or braclet etc or if yous have any kids together pass them down to them

I lost my engagement ring and the insurance paid for a fab diamond ring I loved and had connections to anyone but me. My wedding ring I lost in a house move- so I guess fate played a hand in taking the decision away from me

I had thought about getting them made into something wearable but there's quite a cost to doing that...and we have boys (youngish ones at that) and i doubt they'd be interested in having them. Thinking about it, I'll try and sell them and put the money in the boys accounts.

I recently sold mine, I had no guilt in doing so and even put the money raised into the 'wedding pot!' lol
If you've no girls to pass onto I'd sell them, as you say put in boys accounts or treat yourself to something you'll wear!!

I've not really thought about this - my original wedding and engagement rings are still sitting in my jewellery box. Mind you I don't think they would be worth selling - they were pretty inexpensive to start with! However, there is a sentimental attachment to them - he's still my daughter's dad and we were together a long time. I may ask if my daughter wants them? My (new) husband still has his original wedding ring too. Funny how we've not thought of what to do with them before!

My previous wedding ring sits in it's box inside another wooden box and about once a year I look at it and think how pretty it is. I didn't have an engagement ring so my wedding ring was rose, yellow and white gold band with a tiny diamond in the middle. I chose it, I paid for it. It cost me less than £100 and it meant that my ex then went and paid over £300 for his because 'mine was so cheap it left room in the budget'....er, thanks.
I'll keep it for now, in it's box, in the wooden box.

My first wedding ring was a gold band and he (the him previous )wanted to re new it after 25 years .. I wasn't so keen as I was tryin to get out of the marriage .. but I went along with it and choose a similar ring to you steam it was rose white and yellow gold twisted ring ... I loved the ring but not my ex husband but as it symbols what it does I think I will probably end up selling it :...my wedding ring I have now wasn 't expensive but my happiness is worth a whole lot more

I had two sets of wedding rings first time round. Every day set was specially designed in titanium, engagement ring was a tension set diamond. The wedding ring is lying at the bottom of Leith docks (chucked off the Royal Yacht Britannia, twas a great day and I video'd it), the engagement ring I gave to the lovely man who looked after our room on our recent holiday to Bali (to give to his wife).

I still have the other set, diamond wedding band and bling engagement ring. Not sure what to do with them, I certainly don't want to keep them or have them reset. Thought about selling them and donating the money to charity or donating the rings themselves to charity so they could maybe use them in an auction or something. Be happy to hear ideas
