Hi

I attended a wedding they did 2years ago and thought they were amazing. My sister in law got married this summer and used them as well and once again very amazing.

There re so freindly and very professional. Food is great (my mum is still talking about their bad, her words "the food is bad" bear in mind she is an old typical nigerian woman.

Food and service are great and sis in law did not regret using them.

Hope it helps x

Thanks for that Tem Tem! They do seem quite professional, my only grip is the seated family buffet service they do. I can't seem to get my head around how all the food platters are going to fit around the table bearing in mind centre piece and all the other essential bits that need to be on the table. How did this work at your sister in law's wedding?

Burrell are very good - if it wasn't for the fact that they don't specialise in Nigerian food I would use them. They serve the food in small dishes that contain enough food for everyone on the table to share. Their staff are always on hand to replenish when necessary. They really are very good!

I'm also considering using Burrells catering next year. They seemed really helpful and polite over the phone. I'm having 200 people at the wedding and wanted a plated service, but they said that a family buffet service is better. I've heard really good reviews about them from reliable sources!

I'm also trying out Favour catering and Caribbean Cookpot who had no problems with the plated service. My fiance is Nigerian and I'm Jamaican so it's quite hard to find a caterer that can serve good food from both cultures!!

Hi Stellistar 1,

I had my wedding a year ago, even though it still feels like yesterday! i had such a fab day.

Your post clearly reminded me of what i had to go through. My fiance (then )is also Nigerian and I'm Jamaican. We are constantly having discussions as our culture which did often clash on every thing even down to inviting guests. eg his believe was that every one should come and that was it! where i wanted more order and a closed invite list, not to talk about the cost!!. I can also still remember finding it quite hard to find a caterers that can serve good food from both cultures. Not only that i wanted the whole day to infuse with both cultures, so i had steel drums for the reception and african dancers for the evening entertanment

The company that made this possible was two ladies from Unique Dream Weddings (who specialise in black and multi-cultural weddings). www.uniquedreamweddings.co.uk. These ladies were out of this world!!!!. There has been many postive reviews on these ladies on this forum. check out there website they even have video testimonals of bride and groom on their website( which won me over completely )

please do message me if you want further details on the companies that i used, ( i have to dig out my wedding book)

Hi Faythe

Really lovely to hear from someone who was in the same position as me! Totally agree about the clashing thing... although Nigerians and Jamaicans are very similar in some respects there are new things I'm learning every day.

I would love to hear about how your day went and the suppliers you used. Feel like a a fish in deep water right about now lol!!

Hi
After reading reviews for them I have added them to my list but one thing pops up is that they are quite expensive - does anyone know how much they charge per head
