Hi all!

This is my first time on the forum so apologies if this query has been raised elsewhere before.

I was just wondering if anyone knows what the going rate is for hiring marquees? We're hoping to get hitched in May 2013 at my cousin's farmhouse in Rutland so will be hiring a marquee to erect in their back garden. We'll be working with an incredibly tight budget (despite the fact we have large families and will therefore be looking at around 150 guests) so I'm really keen not to get screwed over with the marquee hire charge- which is likely to be one of the most significant costs.

Any guidance/info would be hugely appreciated.

We initially looked into a marquee but it was coming out at £4500+ for around the same numbers in my fiancé's parents field.

It worked out a lot cheaper for us to hire a nearby castle with a permanent marquee and gorgeous gardens.

capri marquees are much cheaper, and i think look nicer for it. we've got 100 seater marquee with dance floor, all tables and chairs and serving area for £1655 but we're going to add another 20'x20'bit for a chill out zone which i think will be about another £300

I'm having a 40ft x 80ft traditional clear span marquee in a field owned by a friend for my Sept wedding (120 day guests, 270 evening guests) & quote for everything including caterers tent was just short of £4,500

i am in Cornwall so not sure if prices may very regionally
