October Honeymoon Destinations!!!!

Me and my OH are getting married in September next year, and ideally want to do a multi centre honeymoon, going to New York for a few days first and then onto somewhere ridiculously lovely and beachy (think Bali, the Maldives etc....) but October seems to be a really dodgy time to go, all the weather checks I've have said that's the predominant rainy season.

Anyone got any suggestions?? I will cry if I go somewhere to relax and it rains all bl00dy week!!!

I've been really stuck as I want to go October 22/10/12. (See forum "October 2012 Brides-Honeymoon Stress!") for the other ladies responses.

I've been looking and the recommended weather wise are: Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao (as they are below the hurricane belt), Acapulco in Mexico, Hawaii. Then across the ocean you've got: Tunisia, Morroco, Kenya, Goa, Maldives, Mauritius...

Im just wondering whether or not to risk Mexico or not?!

I have booked Mexico for October. I have been advised that it may be forecast for rain but that could be one shower during night or at any time.
I have had friends go in october and said they had 1/2 day of rain in 2 weeks. Im taking a chance just

Weve decided to risk it too, going for 10nights arriving back in UK and going to center parcs for the weekend (it was where we had our 1st wkend away as a couple&where he proposed so it will be quite apt!) Plus if mexico let us down weve got something to look forward to instead of straight back to work. excited!!

There's loads of options available in October - but if you're looking at the Caribbean area then it is the tail end of rainy/hurricane season, so if you don't want to worry about rain then it's best to stay clear. Though it's worth saying that tropical rain is very different to rain here - it might tip it down for an hour or two but once it stops it'll dry up in no time.

Hi we too are getting married in October and are going to New York for 4 nights then on to Clearwater in Florida for 10 nights on beach holiday as it was the only place where we could guarantee good weather in October, plus it's only 60 min drive to the parks, Miami & Florida keys.

We are going to st. lucia for our honeymoon at the end of oct. We are aware that it is the end of the hurricane season but it is the risk you take. We know that it will probally rain but it will only be short bursts. Its always going to be a risk if you go the caribbean but then again the weather may be great! I have heard people have gone to the caribbean in the hurricane season and the weather has been great! It will still be hot and i think a short bust of rain will be quite nice to cool us down! We are going for two weeks so im sure we will get some nice weather! and if it does rain then you can spend some quality time in the hotel room with your h2b!....lol

I'm also getting married in September, we are waiting until November to go on honeymoon and are doing a twin centre break as well. 6 day tour of Sri Lanka followed by 9 days of relaxation in the Maldives. We have waited until then as the weather is likely to be a lot better and also didn't want to go straight away as my sister is coming over from Australia for my wedding so wanted to spend some time with her rather than jeting straight off.

If you have your heart set on New York you are probably better twinning it with somewhere in the Caribbean (we were told to try and pick places that are fairly close otherwise costs can shoot up, flights etc will be more expensive the further away from New York you go).

If you don't mind not going straight away it would probably be better to leave it until Nov/Dec when the weather in the Caribbean will be better.
