Subject: Wedding Insurance advice needed after a traumatic 3 months!
Hi Everyone!

I’m looking for some advice. After a very traumatic couple of months (my great grandma and grandfather died with 24 hours of each other and my Grandmother had a stroke on Boxing Day and is currently in hospital) we have decided that wedding insurance is a must! I obviously don’t foresee any problems but should something happen I need to know that our special day will be covered!

So who have you gone with and how much is it costing you? I have noticed with some it doesn’t cover you for anything that you have already booked and we are pretty much sorted with suppliers/venues etc.

All your help will be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your last few months!

We have gone with John Lewis, we paid around £68 and this covers all deposits and payments already made. Have a look on their website for breakdown of costs and the different levels of cover.

Hope this helps.

We used E&L and it cost us £20. Fingers crossed, nothing has gone wrong so far though!

I went with ecclesiastical as they had fantastic reviews.

However different companies have different terms and things they cover. So take a look at them individually and see which one covers what you need.

I went with E & L and it cost us about £40 I think- it needed to include marquee cover.

So sorry to hear about your rough few months.

Sorry to hear you've had a rough time recently

I agree on John Lewis, I think they're the only ones I've heard of who cover you for deposits already paid, a lot of places don't

We went with E and L as they were the best ones for cover with my husband being armed forces... only about £18 too
You are just the price I paid, Destiny is calling me!

I've read online that e & l won't cover you for deposits already paid before you took the insurance someones venue went bust and they lost everything just a word of warning for you
