Incredible Wedding

My fiance and I have recently become engaged and are starting to plan our wedding.
We are very lucky as not much is out of bounds for us financially, but we would both rather enjoy a 'fun' element to our big day.
We are renowned for dressing up at any given opportunity,and are toying with the idea of a fancy dress wedding.

We are thinking of using The Incredibles as our theme.

Thoughts please

Will people all know what that means as a theme? I wouldn't! I think a broader theme would be better so people have plenty of options

I think that sounds awesome. I think most people will know what it means (although you may end up having some sort of superhero hybrid assortment )
I think just go with whatever sounds fun to you. People can always google/ask others.

Are you going to wear a wedding dress at all? I loved the idea of something fun but couldn't bring myself to pass up on the wedding dress

i agree that you may need to look for a broader theme as people may be a bit confused about that as a theme

A fun theme wedding is brilliant when it represents your personalities. However, I have to say that maybe the Incrredibles is a little narrow - I wouldn't have a clue (had to google it!) but you could have super heroes.

The only thing I would say is would all of your guests dress up, and if they didn't would it bother you?x

I attended a wedding once that was fancy dress, really was the BEST wedding Ive ever been too, very similar idea to yours except they had villains instead, bride and groom were Joker & Poison Ivy, and may I just say wedding dress or not, she looked amazing!
You dont need the dress to look beautiful on your boig day! If its a reflection of the two of you, I say go for it, it will definately be one to remember!

It does sound like a big kids party rather than a wedding.
You have and will have so many opportunities to have or go to a fancy dress party so why use it on the one day where you can have a beautiful dress!
Everyone has their own different style but have a long think about it as your pictures will last a lifetime.
Why not have an incredibles theme for your engagement party instead?

love it, we're toying with the idea of asking people to bring an element of fancy dress/masquerade for the evening bit which will be introduced by the drag act so should lead into quite a bit of fun. we're also having a scooby doo adult bouncy castle as our theme is us really and we're inviting all our dogs doggies friends too so why not

if you and your partner are big kids then why not have a kids party wedding-full on, elements of.... you dont need things to be formal to make it a wedding. i couldnt imagine anything worse for us to have a toast master and regimented sit down 4 course meal blah blah blah

I am not that keen, perhaps going with super heroes could be a bit more grown up and less like a kids party. Or a more grown up theme generally, I know that a themed dress up wedding can look very cool (steampunk bride on here, her wedding looked fab and the guests all got into it).
My wedding is by no means traditional, in fact the complete opposite and represents what we want and our personalities, so I totally get your thoughts xxx

A themed wedding sounds like a lot of fun! But just having the theme as The Incredibles might be a bit limited. There's not that many characters people can come as. Maybe make it a bit wider, like a general super hero theme?
