I reckon so as you have to display your notice to marry in the registry office so that people have the opportunity to object for two weeks(think this is an old law/custom, lol), why do you have to do that? Think it was £37 each for me and H2B.

We have to give notice in 2 different boroughs too. We've been told that I give notice in one borough and h2b gives notice in the other.

you just give notice in the borough you live, so if you live in different places you give notice in those places but even if you live in the same place you have to still have to each pay so i don't think it's any different.

if you are having your wedding in a different place to where you live you only give notice in the place you live.

hope that helps

You have to register your intent to marry in your own borough then they send your details to the district your getting married in. If you call your local registry office they will tell you everything you need to know

You pay a fee each so it won't cost you twice the amount just what you'd pay anyway.

ahhh I see! I didn't realise you paid separately, I thought it was one cost for each time you gave notice! So I will pay my half for my borough, and then h2b will pay his half in his borough. Makes sense now! Thanks guys x
