I'm joining it
I posted yesterday that I had found a lovely fabric on the Whirlingturban website that I just had to have. I've heard back from Katherine the designer and she says it won't work as a sarong type skirt and suggested having the wing bust style with full skirt - oh, and a contrast colour underneath.
Dress style is like this
So where on earth am I going to find a petticoat with enough pouf? Don't worry, it's a rhetorical question - I've been on this site long enough to know where to get such an item.
Dagnamit! I've succumbed to all of those pretty sticky out dresses I've seen on this site

My post has gone all weird and I can't fix it.

Skipula,
The sticky out, poufy dresses look SO much fun to wear!
I was at the designer wedding show on the weekend and the girls in the CA dresses looked like they were having such a good time!
Its going to be beautiful...are you thinking of this instead of your other beautfiful dress or as well as?!

Oh that’s lovely Skip! I absolutely love those huge poufy dresses- the more petticoat the better in my opinion! What colour are you thinking of getting? I think you need to buy some REALLY expensive shoes to go with it ;\)

My little party-flower girls are having dressed with big petticoats. I’m considering buying them an extra one each, just to make them even bigger. They’re going to look so cute!

Binky, you're a bad influence

I have no idea what colour I want underneath - I'm in consultation with my designer (haha!). I've sent her a picture of my leopard print shoes so maybe one of the colours in those. But I've also said I could wear other shoes if she had a better idea for a contrast. Oh dear, not more shoes

Chubbs, I think I'll just be wearing this dress but it means I can wear my other WT dresses before next July - I couldn't before as I didn't want to give the style away.

Ah Skipula, welcome to the poufy wedding dress group! I saw the fabric you were talking about in another of your threads and it's just the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen, you will look stunning in it!! Also love the idea of the leopard print shoes with it - oooh I'm so excited for you!!

Ooh, fantastic! Doesn't it just make you feel so fabulous? What style are you having again? Was it the Peggy Would top like vintage_birdie had? I'm still patiently waiting for her wedding report once she gets back from honeymoon. Yay, excited!

Skipula! That is so dreamy! I love it! and now I want a whirlie turbie dress too....
Love the fitting at the waist, most flattering.

When I saw this thread on the home page I thought it was going to be about big meringues! So hey at least you're not THAT poufy!!

I know you'll have it in the other fabric but that peachy-pinky one is so cute!
Hope you and your dress will be very happy together! CONGRATS!!

Sarah, lovely! Can I ask how tall you are? And what length is the skirt of your dress? So many questions

Lula, I've been reading about the post-wedding blues so I think I'll probably be cruising for a bruising next July. What will I do with myself when I can't justify buying lovely dresses? I'm just daft - you don't need to justify it

oooh lovely, I would have gone with a WT if I hadn't already fallen in love with my CA dress.... talking of which - going in to be measured etc and actually put deposit down on Sat - so will hopefully have some pics to share with you all of my own pouffiness on Monday!!! Pouf is king. Hurrah.

poufiness rocks. welcome to the gang. as if you need any encouragement but my photographer loved mine especially when my skirt caught the wind and they all ruffled up. Marilyn Monroe eat your heart out.

I love the dress and think it will look like an absolute dream with that "leopard skin" type fabric. I love the fact that it still has the "petals" on it. I can't bear the thought of your H2B having nothing to absently fiddle with on the day.
Hurrah for petticoats. hider of thunder thighs (not that you girls need that). I found small children using mine as hide and seek hiding places at the end of the night.
