Hen Parties...

Hi, What is everyone doing for their hen party?
I'm starting to think about mine, would love to have a spa day, then a cocktail and cupcakes party at my house. Not sure when to start arranging? then sending invites? Don't want to seem too keen, but like to be organised.

My hen party is going to be a mini cruise to Amsterdam for the weekend. Really cheap at the mo and good for all ages, as got lots to do on boat while travelling over.

I am just going for a meal with family and friends and then drinking in a few bars. Then the following weekend I am going for a spa day with my mum and my sister, just the three of us. I am not a big drinker anyway so a heavy weekend away is not me. x

I've been really struggling as far as the hen party goes - I didn't want to leave out my mum/family friends, but I couldn't find something that people could realisticly travel to where I could leave the older ones behind after a nice day etc, so my sister suggested having two - a civilised one for older people etc, and an uncivilised with all my girls!! The civilised one will prob just be a meal a few days before the wedding, and for the more mischievous one, I'm thinking of hiring a huge manor house or something for a weekend (between about 25 of us), a short drive from nightlife, and just having a 3-day sleepover, with pubs inbetween. The cocktail and cupcake party sounds like it would go perfectly alongside the sleepover - do you mind if I pinch it?!

i havent thought about that yet. does the bride pay for herself or does her hens do it for her?

hi , my hen night has beeen arranged for a good while now, we are having 2 a local 1 for those who cant travel or get the time of work etc that will just be probably a meal nd drink but the main one we will be doing its a knockout all afternoon followed by vip tickets to nightclub stopping over in hotel for the night then back home again on the sunday ...we are all paying for ourselves bouncy xx

will have to grab my bridesmaids and have a chat with them! i wouldnt mind going away for the weekend

thought about the going away trips abroad but myself h2b nd our 4 yr daughter have never been abroad so we are making our honeymoon our 1st ever holiday so wouldnt feel right for me to be goign abroad for my hen night ...so i am away for the weekend for my hen night but just a couple of hours drive xx

I think generally everyone pays for themselves - including the bride. But some girls may offer to chip in and pay for bride. But don't expect it - especially as people are already forking out a lot for your wedding - eg a present, the hen night, new outfit, maybe a hotel room - I know the bride and groom have even more to pay but you have to look at it from the friends point of view.

I'd say most girls will offer to chip in for drinks for the bride, but probably wouldn't offer to chip in and pay for a weekend away/flights etc.
