Do you get Humanist Celebrants in England? I didn't think Humanist ceremonies were legal in the UK except up here in Scotland.

No not legal - you'd have to do the registry office thing first but that doesn't mean you can't have the humanist ceremony as the main event. My friends did this - they had a registry office thing with their parents the day before and then the main wedding in a disused chapel in Poplar the next day. They got a friend who was an actor to officiate - as it's a humanist/non-legal ceremony, I don't think you need to have an official celebrant.

yes, mrs.teach to be, exactly.

we had a humanist naming ceremony for our daughter and it was lovely, but it was not in london - and I liked the idea that we did exaclty what we wanted, when we wanted - no limitations at all. I have a list of london celebrants, i was just thinking that somebody actually might have used one and can recommend.

Did you find a lovely celebrant?

The British Humanist Association www.humanism.org.uk are the accrediting body for humanist wedding celebrants, covering the whole of England and Wales. They even have a free wedding planner - action plan - on the website, to help you remember everything you need to do!
