Subject: Newlyweds: what would you do differently?
We know you only do it once but if there was one tiny thing you'd do differently (hold your flowers lower, smile more, walk slower, eat a bigger breakfast...) please would you mind telling me about it for a feature in the magazine. Email me at anne-marie.o'leary@natmags.co.uk

I'd have walked down the aisle slower, we practised it in the morning to time it right with the music but I just couldn't wait to get in and to my hubby!! It's the only thing I can think of as the day was perfect!!

I'd have taken more time over the photos. We didn't have an offical photographer so there was no-one to make sure I was put together right for the photos.

I'd have taken a moment to stand back with my husband & watch our guests enjoying our big day.
It went by so fast.
I would also have changed the wedding night! Our 14 month old daughter was really poorly so we had her stay with us & when i finally got her settled i spent the next few hours with my head over the toilet.....must have caught her bug!
Not quite the evening my husband was hoping for he he!

I would have had a wedding video. Our day went so fast and is such a blur, it would be loverly to just have the opportunity to watch the day on a lazy sunday afternoon.

I would say walk slower down the aisle, I dragged my poor dad down really fast to try to get to my boy. I think it was a shame cause he's probably thought about that moment for my whole life too.
I also got caught up chatting with people and hardly spent time with my husband and didn't even get a dance with my dad! I regret both these things a bit.
I think my best advice would be to not sweat the small stuff like napkins and things but to remember to do the big stuff. Aisle, dancing and taking 2 mins out to watch the party with your new husband. I wish I had!

I would not have relied on the florist understanding the detailed conversation we had about my flowers but made sure I had it in writing from them. I specifically wanted my bouquet to be on a handle as I was comfortable holding that and didn't want a hand tied, On the day the flowers were beautiful but it was a hand tied bouquet and I found holding it really awkward and hated the stems showing (all of which we had discussed). I abandoned the bouquet early on as a result which was really upsetting,

Most of my day went perfectly... there are only a few small things I would have changed:
Walking down the isle slower!
Confirming EXACTLY which flowers the florist was going to use (not a big thing in the end but minor irritation)
Having more casual/fun photographs taken of me dancing with my friends
Taken a sleeping tablet the night before as I work up at 1:30am and didnt' get back to sleep!
But my day really was perfect. While I was planning my wedding I asked all my girl friends what they regretted about their day and learned a lot from it. For example, some said they had no video and regretted it, and as a result we changed our minds and got a video which I am so pleased about. Another friend said she wished she has spent more on her dress etc.
I had a perfect day really! Mainly due to lots of planning ahead of time!

The day was pretty much perfect but i would want a longer isle and a bigger veil if i could do it all again. I loved it all so much that i defenitly want to renew my vows in a few years time.

I would have made sure photographer was taking pics of the evening guests. I have NO pics of the people that came to join us in the evening and I'm gutted!
