Fishtail dress worries

I've bought a gorgeous fishtail dress which I absolutely adore, but I'm now really worried about wearing it! I had my first fitting last week and it needs to be taken up and taken in around the bust, but the rest of it fits really well. However, it is very fitted and I'm really worried about being able to sit down in it and walk up stairs. There was one tiny step in the bridal shop and I kind of had to go up sideways! I'm not sure if it was just because the bottom was pinned up so I was worried about standing on it, or if its actually going to be like that on the day. Has anyone else got/had a fishtail dress and are you able to sit down and go up stairs in it?

hi, my dress is a fishtail one - well, a fish tail skirt with a corset top - and it is fitted, but i can easily walk, sit etc... and there isn't any 'give' in the fabric, so perhaps it is the way the fabric is cut?? perhaps give them a call and arrange to go back there this week to try the dress on again and discuss your worries with them.

Hi, I'm worried about this a bit, but mine doesn't arrive til next March so let me know how you go on! The sample I tried on was 2 sizes too small and I couldn't even get up on the little step ha ha, they assured me it would be fine in the bigger size, I'm a 12 but have ordered a 14 for that area - I'll need everywhere else taking in too, like yourself. Sorry, I haven't really helped there have I!!!? xxxx

My dream dress is BR 930 in gold, a true fishtail!!
To be honest, I felt the same before i tried it on, thought itd be dead uncomfy and wouldnt be able to sit or climb stairs in it. After trying on tons of big poofy a-liners it was sooooo comfortable!! Mine is fitted to just the top third of the thigh and then flares out, so with a hoop under it it doent feel like a big heavy skirt like the alines do. I can easily sit down in it. Its made of silk. I'd speak to your bridal shop again.

mine is a fish tail that goes in at the knee again and i am really beginning to wonder how on earth you go to the loo in it?!

Bugger! There's a point! I hadn't thought about that, I was more concerned about walking around, sitting etc, never thought about going to the loo!! Mine is quite fitted, past the hips and bum, so hitching it up could be a problem....uh-oh! Another fitting needed methinks!

God yeah!!! Help all you ladies who've worn a fishtail dress! - how did you go to the toilet?? Argh!! xx

I had never thought about this either. Can just imagine being in and out of the dress 10 times to go to the loo throughout the day. I can't see how you can do it otherwise- yikes another thing to worry about!!

iv been worrying about this too, the only way i can see is getting out of the dress. i had to do this with a bal gown once - rite pain in the ass lol

Oh god I hope not mine's a lace back and I wee LOADS!! I'm a total water fiend! Eek. I'll have to get a catheter (can't spell that I don't think). Gawd!

Gorgeous dress! I had a fishtail - Mori Lee 2147 http://www.houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=16911 and didn't have any problem. I actually didn't go to the loo all through out wearing it but thats very unusual for me! I reckon I could have pulled it up though. Not much help but I loved my dress soooo much.

Ooh that's a pretty dress too, god there's no chance I'll manage that - I wee all the time! xx
