I'm another May 2010 bride.

We are working towards the 20th, but nothing booked as yet.

Can anyone help? We are finding that travel companies are telling us that we can not book until June/July time and we need to be on the island 7 days before we can get married. Are any of you having the same problem, or have any advise?

Hi Karen,
The wedding planners out there have told me we only need to be there one day after to sign stuff at the town hall but obv. being there a few days before is handy to sort stuff but it deffo doesn't have to be 7 days.Which travel agent are you using?I know the flights are so annoying some our guests want to book now!!!

I am a manager for First Choice/ Thomson Holidays!!

All holiday companies have delayed launching their summer 2010 brochures until end June/ July. The reason for this, is the lovely old credit crunch!
They want to try and shift this years stock before launching next year (normally all companies launch their following years brochures in April- so around this kind of time)


In terms of the 7 day thing, you are right, most tour op's will say 7 days is needed before you can get married, but this is really to cover their backs, there is no actual legal requirement.

I know what you mean about guests wanting to book flights, I was going to send my invites out this month (wedding june 2010) but it seems silly to send them out if people cant book, so im going to hold off!!!VERY annoying!

Hiya Joanna, we've not bked anything so far, but the travel agents we've been talking to are Thompsons, Thomas Cook and Sovereign, not that any of them have been that helpful, due to the delay in booking 2010 holidays.

I keep seeing everyone talking about the wedding planners, Elena & Micheal, do they work for Santorini Princess Hotel or are they independant?

It's sad to say that I'm getting stressed, as I can't book anything! I've bought my dress & shoes, we know what rings we want and apart from the little things, we pretty much sorted, or that's what we think!!!!

im using Micheal and Elena, they are not attached to the SP hotel, but do strongly reccomend it but also other lots of other venues to!

Sorry Kelwalk, I replied before I saw your post. Thanks for the information you gave us, we were starting to feel as tho it was us.

I feel the same way, we want to send the invites out, but feel a bit silly in doing so. We have sent out save the date cards, which went down well.

We've seen some brides quote dates for May 2010, how do you think they are booking their's?

I have booked my wedding and had the fee quoted etc, but done this through Micheal and elena and really other brides feedback. The minute the flights launch i will post something on here so everyone knows!!!

Yesetrday at work, we were told it could now be mid- end of june rather than July but will have to wait and see
Have also bought my dress,. brdiesmaids dresses, and the hen night is nearly sorted!! ha ha

I have paid Elena 250 euros for the registrar so I have the date I want, but just need to decide where!

Hi I am also using an independant wedding planner Anna from santoriniweddings.com. She seems lovely to I paid a deposit on my wedding package to book the Mayor who marries you but I also changed the date already. When we get home from Santorini I think we will start making our invites - maybe they might be ready for when the flights are out then!! LOL.I have my eye on a dress and have tried it on twice already but am going to get my 2 bridesmaids and my mums opinion on it on Friday.As for everything else nothing is done yet.While dresses are you girls having and what colour bridesmaids?I'm thinking teal/turquise colours but I really need the 3 of them together 2 try out colours.
