hi,
I'm new to the site and have been engaged just over a month. After finally choosing a date and wedding venue i do not know where else to begin!

My wedding is in August 2010 and i was wondering how you choose a colour scheme? I am very fond of purple/lavender and wondered what colours go with this or any other colours apart from Pink or Red/burgundy?

Any help would be great.
:\?

Hiya!

Purple is such a great colour and is really trendy at the moment, purple and silver look GREAT together but it's quite christmassy and seeing as it is a summer wedding may want something different. purple and yellow are complimentry colours so you could go for sunflowers? or you could go for different tones of purple, you have so many choices!! you don't have to choose traditional colours just something that you love and people will know you chose!!! xx

I want dark blue and cream with accents of silver... this week, at least! I'm planning a winter wedding though.

Think the idea of purple with big yellow flowers is lovely - would make such a beautiful bright summer wedding. What about cream and purple? Thinking aboutt he bouquet - would keep it all light and bright?

There are soooo many shades of purple from the palest lilacs through lavendars to the richness of 'Cadbury' purple there's bound to be a shade to suit!
Yellow goes fantastically well with purple (again look at Cadbury's chocolate wrappers!!lol) as does silver and all shades of white/ivory.
You could even team it with bright pink!
It's really the most versatile of colours.

We're having a black and white wedding, with touches of aubergine purple (flowers, cravats, napkin etc.). and we're getting married in Spring.
