Subject: wedding at Halton House?
Hi All,
I am having a bit of a dilemma with the wedding venue...me and my h2b are planning to get married some time next year but dont know to have it at home or abroad!! My H2B was stationed at Halton for a months and I fell in love with halton house though was unsure about having it as a wedding venue due to people being able to come down in the evening as it is there home at the end of the day!! However, we re now really struggling to get the venue with the right date so im reconsidering this option!! I was just wondering if anyone knows of getting married at Halton house or there thoughts on the matter! I want to get this wedding booked as its been 7 months since we got engaged and the weddings next summer....getting a little frustrated!! xxx

Hi
I went to a reception at Halton house last year - was lovely.
I wouldn't worry about the livers-in as only about 4 of them were in the bar and that was it! I've just had my wedding in a mess and no-one was there because it was such a small mess.

Hiya
I would so agree with Jules1975, I was on a course at Halton mid week a month ago and it was DEAD in the bar at night apart from us, let alone the weekends! According to my friends there, it is always that empty mid week and even more so at weekends-if that is possible!!! It is GORGEOUS!!! i have a friend getting married there this summer and i am in awe of its beauty inside and out.. so good luck! xxx

Hiya, I got married and had my reception there last September and it was amazing! It is a great setting. There are very few people living at the house itself and we didn't see one person on the day. As far as I know you can't get married at the house, but there is a church just round the corner and the nearest registry office is Aylesbury, but I would say the church is by far a much nicer setting. We live a few miles away so got married in our village then had the reception there. The staff are great - we couldn't have asked for more and there are amazing photo opportunties at the house - I couldn't recommend it any more! We got engaged in Singapore and asked if we could have Singapore Slings for the arrival drinks and the staff basically said we could have whatever we wanted on the day - the cocktails went down very well and were very alcoholic!! If you pay the bar levy the drinks are very cheap and your guests will love you forever, lol! Make sure you book the VIP suite for you and hubby on your wedding night - it's huge and only costs about £30 a night!

Hi Hayley,
Its sooo good to here from someone who has had there wedding at halton house. My h2b brought all the application forms home this lunch so we're going to fill them in tonight and write a letter to the PMC to ask permisson. Unfortunately there is no dates left for 2010, but we dont mind as im I start my last year at university in sept and knowing me I will spend all my time planning the wedding rather than getting on with work!!
Ive loads of questions to ask as we cant get hold of the mess manager untill next week. Could I have your email if you dont mind hayley.

Hi Catherine,
I arranged our wedding while my hubby was away in the Falklands and I was studying for an MSc - I spent more time on wedding websites and day dreaming about the wedding than I did on my MSc and it was reflected in my results so it's probably a good idea that you finish uni first! Weddings are very distracting and it's nice to enjoy the planning and not stress that you have essays to write as well as things to organise for the wedding as the wedding always comes first!!
I've changed my chat preferences now so you should see a little box at the bottom of my post that says 'email' - if not let me know. If you send me a message I'll email you back - probably better than me putting my email address in this post.
