There is a couple of people somewhere on this site who were married there. It's my surname so H2B suggested it, but it's too far away to be acceptable really, we're getting married in Leasowe Castle. x

Hi Clucky,
Shame Statham Lodge is too far away that wouldn't cool, you could have prentended it was your family home lol!! . I've just had a look at Leasowe Castle though and it looks amazing!!!.

Any one out there getting married at Statham Lodge?? x

Hi!
We have booked statham lodge too, but we couldn't get a weekend date as it was all booked up! Its a gorgeous venue tho and since it was the h2b's absolute favourite we booked for Thursday 29th July. 410 days and counting!

Hello All

I've just booked the Statham Lodge for Sat May 14th 2011 !!!!!!!

It was all booked up, up until then and my partner didn't want to do it on any day other that a Friday or Saturday.

We went to visit on Sunday and it is really nice and has a homely feel about it; I can just imagine all our friends and family relaxing in the bar area or (hopefully - weather permitting) the beautiful gardens.

I really look forward to hearing how all you other B2B's are getting on.

xxx

We def only paid £500!

We got an invite to a wedding fayre that they were having last year and have had one phone call last year asking us to go in and sort final details - we corrected them with the year as they though we were getting married last year not this October!!

Apart from that we have just been in a couple of times and the wedding coordinator always recognises us.

They told us they had no need to see us again until 10 weeks before when we confirm all of the menu, guest numbers etc although we were welcome to go in and look at the room set up or to ask questions whenever we wanted.

Racheal2703, they will be fine about you ringing up or emailing to ask questions! They have been so helpful with us and have given us so much confidence in them! I think they just do so many weddings that is why they dont see you until so close!

Probably the best attitude to take with the money (as long as you are not going to want the deposit back!) We have just had to start paying out larger sums of money with 19 weeks to go and believe me it starts to sting a bit so if you have paid more upfront it will all help later on!

Is it kelly that you have been delaing with at Statham?

Believe me the time till your wedding will fly by faster than you will believe! We booked 22 months in advance and i cant quite believe that it is now only 5 months...wish I had been a little bit more organised at the start!

Hi H,
Thanks i think i'll send them an email just ask them a few questions. I havn't been speaking with anyone there yet all we've done is go rounds and view then go back to pay the deposit that was in Feb. I think coz they do so many weddings im worried about them forgetting mine, i can just imagine ringing them and they're like 'no sorry no williams/ tetlow wedding here!' lol x xx

I was like that to start with, I was worried that they would forget us, but actually we have been there a couple of times for food and the wedding coordinator recognises us etc!

They have filled me with confidence that everything will be fine as they do, do so many weddings!

They were the only venue that told us they would rather have everything 2 days before to take the stress off us! one place told us that they would not accept the cake until the day as if it was in their fridge the someone was bound to drop some potatoes onto it!! That filled us with confidence.....!!

Whereabouts do you live? Is it possible for you to make an appointment and pop in one Saturday. We were told that once we had booked we were always welcome to pop in and see the venue set up as long as it was before the bride and groom arrived. You could then actually speak to someone to ask your questions!
