We already looked into the dates before deciding when to get married. We will enjoy watching the World Cup ourselves so want to make sure it's all done and dusted before our wedding day.

our wedding is at the end of the season and we get back of honeymoon a day before the world cup starts!
Mine doesn't but you can't stop peole from wanting to watch it. A friend had a tv round the corner so people can watch it and then carry on enjoying the wedding. It saves them having to slope off to the pub and come back later!
Our wedding day is on Friday 2nd July and it's quarter finals day. Apparently there's a very good chance England will be playing too!
We're having our reception at a golf club and we know there is a TV in the bar, so hopefully the guests will be able to catch the game in between the wedding breakfast and the reception!

Yes me too. Purposely checked the world cup dates before booking the wedding.
Ours will be 2012 bang in the middle of the Olympic Games and near the end of Wimbledon, We are NOT having a big TV, all personal radios will be banned and anyone who chooses Wimbledon or Olympic Games over our wedding will be struck off our list of friends and totally shunned. If friendship and family come after sport then its not a true friendship or love towards us and they will NOT be welcome at the wedding at all, if they don't like it tuff!
Ours unfortunately is on a quarter final day...july 3rd. Venue is a barn so no chance of tv.... Just hope if England make quarter final their play off isn't then. Personally couldn't care less about footy but aware a good portion of our guests will!
NO WAY, would never organise my wedding to clash with a sporting event.
we are so unware of sporting events that we didn't even relaise it till we booked! It was the last saturday in summer available at our venue so no way I am changing it for a football match. It wasn't on purpose though
rogantobe - i get married on the 3rd july too, and was worried as it will be the quater finals on that day, but my h2b has said there is a good chance they could be playing on the friday night.
I was worried at first but like flossypops its only a match, a wedding is more important.
