Don't worry about it ladies . . . my brother in law sent his thank you cards out 1 year after the wedding and wrote ours in front of us!
I got married on 29 May and have pretty much finished my cards now. Some very kind people who had not been invited to the wedding gave us money or gifts - I sent out these thank yous before we went to Italy for the wedding. For our guests, I wanted to add a thank you for coming to the wedding as well as thank you for the gift so these were sent out last week.
Good luck x

We sent ours about 3/4 weeks after the wedding, I had to wait for our photographer to send us a photo so we could get photo cards printed
I wouldnt worry, 23rd May isnt that long at all. At least you are actually sending thank you cards. We went to a wedding last October and never got one. Then we went to another one in March and bought a very expensive gift and never got one either! Now that is rude!!!

If its any consolation pinkgirl_kimmy we got married on May 1st and I am only just posting the second batch of thank you cards today. I too feel anxious about the amount of time that has lapsed since our wedding but I think people understand that even after the wedding is a busy time. As long as you send them people will appreciate the sentiment, I would if it was me. I have also made a point of personalising what I have written in each card from something that guest told me on the day to inviting someone out for dinner.
Try not to think of it as a chore - get all the cards, addresses, stamps and of course your gift list out ready and tick each one off the list as you go through. Once you get started it isn't too bad.
good luck
R x

We're gonna get a nice pic of the two of us on honeymoon as guests are contributing to this via Trailfinders giftlist and add the photo to a vistaprint thank you card but think we will have to write them out rather than type them. What does everyone else think - is it too inpersonal to type thank you cards or is writing them better?

I thought it was etiquette to get them out before two weeks when you return from honeymoon?

I got married 7 wks ago and only just sent them out. As long as they are out within 12 wks think you can get away with it. Any longer than that looks a bit rude.

I think as long as you send them, then not to worry really. I found that when we got back from our honeymoon we had so much stuff to do, ie sorting out wedding stuff we had left and sorting stuff for going back to work that it took us a while to get our cards sorted. (went on honeymoon the day after our wedding so had lots of tidying up to do too plus food shopping ...the list goes on and on) We managed to get them out after 6 weeks, you're only human. People have since thanked us as they probably thought they weren't getting one lol x

I've got a small pile of em, but I have a list of even MORE to do. I'm using a fairly simple photoshop template for the covers then hand writing each card, so it's gonna take a while. Still, gives that personal touch right?
Then I have to go back through my list of addresses heh.
This is... gonna tkae a while.
