Hi Marisa,
I get married in October and joined a local gym in April. I don't feel I have too, too much weight to lose as, other than v untoned arms, my wedding dress is very structured and working miracles! I'm more concerned about getting my body in shape for wearing a bikini on honeymoon.
My gym trainer has advised concentrating on cardio exercises until two months before the wedding, when I should start doing weight training to tone up. I'm just worried that this isn't enough time and that I'm going to end up with bulky legs (I mostly run for 40-45 mins, then use a cross trainer for 20), when I'd like long, lean looking legs and a flat tummy (problem area, other than legs and arms, is wobbly belly!).
Sorry for such a convoluted question!! I suppose I'm just looking for suggestions on a timescale for toning and also a few suggestions as to which cardio and weight exercises I should be doing, given that I get married in 4 months?

Hi Marisa
I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding, and I do really well with a healthy breakfast and lunch, but when it gets to late afternoon all my good intentions seem to go out the window and I start snacking. Then I find I can't stop! I seem to lose and gain the same couple of pounds every few weeks, how do I break the cycle?

Hi Dinky
you can do cardio and weights at the same time and there is no reason why you shouldn't despite what your trainer says. When you are running use very small hand weights to work you arms. Or do press ups I have small dumbells and do arm exercises while watching TV
you can do curls, fly and bench pressing (ask your trainer to show them to you) also if you switch to 10 minutes of skipping with a weighted jump rope and run for 30 minutes the skipping will work your arms. You should also be doing soome sit ups and stoamch crunches every day or every other day to get and kep your stomach flat.
Tell your trainer what YOU want ask him to give you a programme of arm and stomach exercises to start on now. He is working for you and should listen to what you want you can do cardio and toning at the same time thats what aerobics classes do.

Hi Helsbels
first make sure you have enough protein at breakfast and lunch as protein cuts hunger beter than anything alse wheres when you eat carbs like pasta bread etc you feel hungry again more quickly.
so make sure you have palm sized amount (or 4-6oz of chicken/ fish /ham etc with your lunch and at breakfast eat eggs or oats with some nuts and seeds or yogurt wiht nuts added rather than fruit so you keep your metabolsim up and are fat burning rahter than fat storing.
Also if you always snacked on sugary things when you came in form scholl at 4ish you have set up a pattern of wanting to snack on sugar in the late afternoon. You can stop this by snacking on fods that fill you up quickly try hard boiled eggs, humus with raw veggies, soya peas, fresh fruit a piece of ham or a handful of nuts and seeds. it takes a little effort to take these foods with you but you will end hunger keep the weight off and stay in fat burning mode if you do this. DONT snack on dried fruit, fruit bars or sweets ,bread or pastry of any kind and you will be a svelte stunning bride.

hi bride obee
your exercise videos should have some arm toning but if they dont here's a free way to tone arms.
take two tins of baked beans or fill two small water botttles with sand or soil to wieght them then sit up straight with your elbows pulled in to your sides and one arm at a time straighten your arm out behind you do this 15 times for 4 repetitions on each arm. Do press ups in kneeling position unitl you are stronger
do arm raises, fly and arm extensions using the cans or water bottles( you can find daigrams on how to do these on line by googling arm exercies.) Skipping is a great way to tone your arms
If you lose weight slowly your face wont sag at all (sugar makes the face sagggy and jowly because it makes collagen fibres stiff, rigid and inflexible) cutting out sugar will keep you thinner and with a lovley face

hi bridetobee
if you feel uncomfortable at weekends going on out about dieting tell your family you want to be healthier or are eating in a healthy way to avoid headaches -it doesnt mater what you say but if you use health as a reason to eat better instead of dieting you will get more support.
Those habits of weekend bingeing or evenings with chocolate can be broken easily. My book You Can be Thin has a free CD that breaks bad eating habits for good just by listening to it and if you dont want to buy it you can get in form the library.

Hi
Are there any excercise to help with the chest? I am losing weight, and toning, but wasn't sure if there was anything I could be doing to keep 'the boys' in place? Or is it just gravity?

You can also skip in the kitchen or anywhere as long as you have a little free space. Skipping is a great way to burn fat and tone your legs arms and bum -you only need to do it for 10 -15 minutes play some great music to motivate you.
I skip on a mini trampoline (they cost about £25) its areodynamic meaning it protects your joints and it gets rid of bags under the eyes too as the rythmic pressure stimulates cells to release waste and stimulates your lymp system (your immune system)
happy skipping
