Subject: MENU HELP!
Hi Ladies
our venue insists that everyone get a choice of all courses (we wanted to have all same starter and desert and choose main) BUT it is their reputation so we are doing it the way the chef wants. We have our own catering business so we are really fussy! I have chosen the following but I really don't think that some of the choices sound special enough and was wondering if you ladies could help tweak this?
I need a welcome drink on arrival before the wedding. I am having mulled wine after with mini mince pies (my only salute to christmas) BUT I dont want to serve this twice of course! so HELP!
Starters
Leek & Potato Soup with home-made soda bread OR Chicken Liver Parfait with toast fingers OR Black & White pudding with a whiskey and mustard sauce (we are from Lancashire so this is a local thing)
Fish course and or sorbet undecided
Mains
Pesto topped Salmon en croute
Supreme of Chicken breast in a sticky sweet chilli glaze
Roast sirloin of Beef with Yorkshire pudding
Aubergine, Courgette & Butternut Squash Layered Stack with red pepper sauce
Desert
Sticky Toffee pudding with creme fraiche (which I think I will change for clotted cream)
Caramelized Apple Honey Crumble
Lancashire Cheese Board.
Any changes/tweaks advice would be appreciated

Mmm winter pimms, I am just enjoying the normal pimms at the moment in the last bits of sunshine!

We had a great time choosing our menu this week too - we had to tailor the sample menu to make it a bit more winter-y! But our venue were great and made loads of suggestions. Only thing I would say about yours is the veggie option is a bit less substantial than the meat ones - especially given that the meat eaters will have a choice of three options.

We are also having mulled wine and mince pies! With hot spiced apple juice for drivers.
