Subject: Make up advice - foundation.

Hello All,

I wondered if anyone knows the most fantastic hair and make up person based in Surrey. I'm so scared that I'm going to get caked in foundation which I know won't suit my skin (as I have freckles). And my thoughts are it's all very well for the photos but for most part of the day people will be looking at you....

Any advice much appreciated!

Hey Rach.

don't let anyone cake you in makeup, no matter what they tell you. It is NOT needed for bridal makeup photography. yes if yo'ure going to be in Vogue or Cosmo and you're under bright studio lights, but not a wedding photographer's camera.

There's a few that spring to mind who do/can cover Surrey, Amanda Roberts (she's a mod and mentor on makeupadviceforum) is London, but may well come down,

Juliet cunnington who's the senior moderator on MAF, she's Herts, but will travel.

Lucy at Harmony in Beauty who's in Surrey (can't remember where, Haslemere springs to mind, but I'm not sure that's exactly right!!!)

Bev from Makeupology, London based, but will cover the surrounding areas

Amanda J who's sussex based, but will do parts of Surrey

that's all that leap to mind at the moment!

HAve a look at www.MakeupAdviceForum.co.uk cos it will take you straight to their webpages, and they all have to be highly profesional, totally independent (so they won't sell you a bucket load of not-very-good stuff!), and have a wealth of expertise, all before they can advertise/advise on MAF!

Thanks for that Sam - will definitely check them out. Have you ever used any of them yourself?

I'll bear in mind for whoever I choose that I shouldn't be foundationed-out!

Nope, but I own the makeup advice forum, and any makeup artist on there has to have a particularly high standard of skill, experience and professionalism, and absolutely NO stock shots on their portfolio!

If they don't cut the mustard, they don't advertise and advise. Other than Lucy, I know the others very well, they are all very regular on the forum part of MAF and are very willing to assist brides and ladies on there with makeup questions and queries, and are happy to share their knowledge online as well as their skills on real faces!
