Cyprus May 2010-when do u choose your flowers/cake etc!?!

Hi, we are getting married at the Capo Bay next May ) We visited Cyprus this May but our co ordinator didnt have time to meet us so there were a few things we couldnt discuss or sort out.

I wanted to know when you choose your Cyprus flowers? is it done once over there and how about the cake? it seems very last minute dot com to do it that way?!

Also does anyone know which DJ does the Capo Bay as i have asked for him to be booked but was told we didnt need to book him til next year?! I would like to be able to send him a list of songs and stuff though.

Oh dear feel a bit bridezilla now but i like to be organised and have things booked and ticked off but it doesnt seem to be panning out that way!

Also does anyone know how much a lace parasol bought in Cyprus might cost? i forgot to look! xxx

I've been thinking exactly the same. I emailed my wedding planner today to ask when I start choosing my cake, flowers, cars etc. I will let you know when she replies.

Yes they are so more laid back over there thats the prob and i guess busy with this years weddings! But even so be nice to get things sorted )

We have to chose our colours for flowers etc when we get out there!! I was a bit surprised but they do it all the time and are very laid back about it!!

We travelled on a wednesday and didn't get married til the following wednesday. We went to the florist on the Thursday to decide on what we wanted and only paid on the tuesday, the day before the wedding. Flowers were brilliant and no worries at all. Everyone in Cyprus is so relaxed but it all works out.

phew ok! Thats good news then, just have to learn to relax about it all then! Is that the same for the cake too?

cake we just had a really basic one from a bakery that our wedding coordinator Stella got for us, and we got the florist to make up a cake topper. We had yummy dessert at Zaffron so didn't want a big cake, just something to cut basically and for pictures. It was actually a really nice cake though that we and our guests ate for the rest of the holiday

There is no rush at all to sort flowers and cakes but if you need special flowers you should let them know beforehand as some they have to import. Katerina at Capo Bay will book your DJ for you it has to be booked through the hotel.

I've been planning my wedding since feb last year and within the first few months had chosen my flowers, cake, cars, outfits, dress - more or less everything really. The internet was a good send to me but also I visited a few wedding fayres to get ideas and they gave me alot of inspiration/ideas

Anywhere I went I took pictures or saved pictures from the net to different folders on my pc and then sent them to my co-ordinator who got me prices etc from her suppliers. The other good thing about this was she was able to tell me what was "do-able & not do-able!" Like chocolate on the cake was not possible for us as our venue is outside and of course it would melt a thing I had not thought of & also some flowers are hard to come by and not good in heat, your co-ordinator will advise of these

My advice is you will know when you see what you want, there is no timescale to deciding
