I have a question for anyone who has recently got married or is about to get married- how long do you think you need to take off work/ did you take off work before the big day?? At the moment I only have 1 day booked off (Friday then get married on the Saturday) and am worried I will be a mess by the wedding day with all the rushing around beforehand.
What would you recommend??

i thought would get too nervous if was off too long beforehand, as everything will be planned by then. i am having 2 days off before, one of which is h2bs birthday

Im having wed, thurs fri off before wedding on sat. Wanted to have one day where i could relax. Where i wasnt running round having nails done etc!
I'm having a month off... finish on 16th july get married august 15th.
but then again i've not had to book it off as i'm a teacher... lol : )

I had thurs and fri off, wedding on sunday. I needed more time because I left lots to the last minute. I was stresssed. Have as much time as you can!

I have wens, thurs and friday off - getting married on the Monday but have to travel over to Holland in the meantime!
A week for me, I'm a teacher too and get married July 25th. Booked it specifically so I'd have a week beforehand, didn't want any longer or I'd have been wishing my holiday away! XXX
I have Thursday and Friday off for the wedding on Saturday. I'm flying to Scotland on the Wednesday evening - I'm trusting most of the organising to my mum - delegation is the way to go to avoid stress!
am having 10 days off before we fly out - away for 16 days and then 4 days off when we get back - just over 4 weeks - had to extra special permission as I am a nurse to have that long off and am sacrificing some time off this year in order to have it - it will be bliss!!!

well I only have 4 days leave to take at that time of the year, so the plan is Thursday and Friday before, Monday and Tuesday (H2B's birthday too) after.
Just saying it makes it feel too short.

I'm having a week off beforehand. My company have been quite good and given me three extra days annual leave for getting married!
As i work for a schhol i had the 2weeks of Easter off and i got maried the sunday after Easter.....then went back to work on the wednesday and honeymooned a month later!....
if i hadnt had easter off i think i would of booked 3 days before hand off.....

I am having Thu Fri off and get married on the Saturday. A guy I worked with on who got married last year was just taking the friday off, He was so stressed and wasnt sleeping work told him to take the thursday off as well to relax xx
