Subject: Make up artist
Hi

Could anyone help me decide whether to have a make up artist on the day.

A friend has offered to put my make up on as she is quite good at it but I cannot decide. Buying the makeup will cost the same as having the make up artist and the trial so it does not save any money but would get to have new make up.

Does anyone have any tips,? Would you recommend having a make up artist, or was it not worth it?

Please help, this is driving me crazy!! xxxxx

If its the same price then I would go for it.

I'm training to be a make up artist eeeeek its very exciting cant wait to be doin stuff like this.

Like you said you can either have that or a load of new make up which would you prefer the most?

make up artists have so much more stuff with them it would cost a fortune to buy it all. Not only that you really need someone that has expert knowlege in how to deal with your specific skin type.

I have very slightly oily patches and i often feel when i do my own make-up it all gone by 5.

i have lots of good quality make-up (MAC etc)however my make up artist who was also using mac was using primer and lotions that i had never seen. she used a combination to suit my skin then applied the best foundation.

i liked the trial however changed my mind between time and she was able to do it on the day just as i described.

I never needed to touch-up my make-up once (exept my gloss). it was very natural looking - as i had asked and i felt very confident in it.

we got married on a very hot day and i know if it weren't for all the stuff and way it was done my make -up would have slid off. Also I was soo nervous i couldn't have contemplated doing my own make up.

I think it does depend on whether you like just a little make-up - when you friend would prob be fine, or you like full foundation and eyes etc - where the make up artist might be a better idea.

I used a makeup artist, she worked wonders with my skin, everyone said the make up was amazing, she had a massive kit of professional quality makeup, and created a flawless complexion that I can't achieve! Her name was Kit Hall, and I can't recommend her enough. She does hair in the package too, and I figured after spending a lot of my dress, to have my hair and makeup let it down just wouldn't do!

Hi!

I had a make up artist on the day and it made the morning so relaxing- it was like being pampered, very calming. She did hair too and it was amazing.

Also, having her around was great for things like the tiara and veil as I am the first to get married, me and my bridesmaids didn't have a clue!!

xx
