Subject: bit confused about honeymoon
Hey guys,
Really in a bit of a pickle. I have a lady at travel councellors looking for our honeymoon.
She has come back with some great ideas, one being a multi centred holiday in thailand but my dilema is its only B & B for £3400 for both of us, where as i cant help but think we could go somewhere AI for this price (she came back with few ideas like maldives and ST Lucia)?
What do you guys think?

The thing with AI packages is that youare getting just that - a package - no flexibility and the cost usually seems chaper as the companies that offer the packages usually get deals with either th eairlines or the hotel sinvolved. Personally I'd go multi centre in Thailand anytime. The food over there is so cheap that you're not going to spend ah ug amount extra dn you get to stay in more than one place. I hate the idea of all inclusive places - mainly because they rarely put anything back into the local economy (often owned by rich overseas investors), they don't really give you any indication of the culture of a place and you are tied to them for every meal. We're paying around £3,500 for 2 1/2 weeks multi centre in Thailand, including all transfers, flights (including one internal one), ferries, guide on a few days and full board on the floating raft houses on the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi but other than that we are B&B too. You do pay around £600 a head just for flights to Thailand. I'd say decide what you actually want from your holiday and if it's just down time in an idyllic place then maybe go for the cheaper all inclusive place, if you'd like ot get out and see soemthing and do "stuff" then I'd go for Thailand.

Hi, we are paying 5k for a 12 night multi centre holiday to Thailand B&B so I think you have been quoted a great price. We could have done it a bit cheaper but we really splashed out with our hotel choices.

I agree with Wraggy22 - it really depends what you want out of a holiday. For me personally 2 weeks of eating at the same resort does not really do it for me but for others it would be heaven not having to go anywhere.

Hi, we are going to Thailand for our honeymoon too, staying in Khao Lak at The Sarojin for 11 nights then 3 further nights in Bangkok. Both are B&B but are not that worried to be honest as our travel councellor has been to both places and said the cost to dine is very minimal.

Our original quote was nearly £8000 but we managed to haggle this down from other competitors to £6500 for both of us.

We had looked at the usual honeymoon destinations, Maldives, Mauritius and the likes and didn't even think about Thailand. I am so glad Gail at Quality Travel suggested Thailand to us, we can't wait to go.

We both thought that a honeymoon is a once in a lifetime holiday and we wanted the best we could afford.
