Is anyone doing their own church flowers? We are on bit of a budget so are doing our own pew ends with ribbons and butterflies but not sure what to do about flowers? There is a lady that does the flowers in the church but charges £80 per pedistal which seems an awful lot of money for something that we will only look at for 45 minutes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else we could do?

Personally i would think the pedistals need to be grand and eye catching or not have them at all. I dont mean that in a mean way, but on a budget id maybe not have them.

I wish we could have pew ends but we're not allowed.

how about a candle that goes on a pedistal? Could you have a thick candle on it, drape ribbons off of it and scatter petals around maybe?

Will there be any other weddings in the church on the same day? When my sister got married there were three weddings on the same day, so they agreed on something neutral and split the cost. Or you could arrange to have someone from your wedding party (eg usher) to transport these to the Reception venue?

You are probably right about the budget thing could end up looking a bit naff. But a large candle could work I guess - will have a think.
I can't belive your not allowed pew ends? What is the reason for that?

We had our church florist do ours at our wedding last year and they only charged Â£45 each pedestal , do you know any body that could do them or maybe ask a local florist ? there was lots of greenery in ours and they were beautiful will add a pic , maybe if you have a look at floristry books you maybe able to do it yourself ?
