Subject: What are your views on balloons as table displays?
Hi everyone,
We're having between 10 & 12 tables for the reception, plus a top table and centrepieces seem to be quite a expensive when we've been looking around. I just wondered what people thought of balloons as centrepieces?
I was thinking of having 5/6 tables with a cluster of balloons on them (browns & creams colour theme) and 5/6 tables with goldfish bowls (or something similar) with a nice flower display inside? It just seems to work out a lot cheaper and also a bit more varied.

I really like the idea. It's what we are thinking of doing. My H2B's best friend did something similar when he got married a few years ago and the room looked great.
And I agree it certainly is cheaper than the traditional flowers.
xx

Sorry just read my post back, sound like very boring tables don't they! lol! I'm also planning on having large round mirrors, tea lights (glass holders) and scattered petals in browns & creams all over the white table linen x

I've been looking through ideas for table decorations and I've seen some really nice ones with balloons. You would get them to match your colour scheme. (Ours is black and white). We#re having them at the night do. I think they'll be nice x

I'm having balloons. On each string I'm having 3 balloons, one cream with a large brown one inside, the other just a brown one and the other cream with a small brown one inside. I'm having this for 5 tables and having a floor one at the side of the top table and its only costing £60 to £70. Quite good I thought.

I think they sound really nice. If your using latex balloons and not foil make sure you use an extender inside them or they will deflate after 6 to 8 hours

she was perhaps a bit blunt, but it is only her opinion....and the person who posted did ask what people thought so she was only giving her honest opinion!

. it amazes me that so many fellow brides seem to forget this forum is set up so we can offer positive surport . too right its only her opinion .....and in my opnion it is a very short sighted un imagaitive person who can not visualise how striking a mixture of flowers and ballons can be . ballon artists are capable of giving a top florist a run for thier money . one can only assume that the b4 mentioned poster is of extreamly limted knowledge

i love balloons too, and it has become apparent that my h2b is actually a bridezilla and said he didnt want them because he thought they were tacky ( i love tacky n kitch and he knows it !)... so our comprimise is to have the balloons decorating the cake table and the entertainment stage and entrance areas of the party after the wedding breakfast.
Sometime balloons and flowers can look overbearing together on or around tables.... how about just ballons on / around the tables or have just the flowers on tables and do balloons in the party area... make sure they are full of helium , so you can have some vocal fun later on!!! good luck

I think we'll be having some balloons, as well as some floral displays....we have long banqueting tables rather than round ones so it'd work out mega expensive for us to provide enough flower arrangements to go round! Also, I think balloons are nice for the kids, and are better for the evening reception tables!
Don't think there is any need for the nastiness there king2b.....I didn't read anniegetyergun's comment as being nasty, honest opinions were asked for and they've been given - only nasty thing I've seen on here is posted by you in fact!
What's up with giving honest opinions these days? I'd much rather someone told me what they thought than got shot down for offering their view!
