got my absolute!!

Got my absolute on thursday, only 2 weeks after it was granted (they wont say over the phone due to data protection) and only 2 months after it had been applied for, was starting to feel as if i'd never be divorced! I wish i'd never married him, i was just his carer and never his wife, am not knocking those who care for their loved ones with disabilities but recently found out that he was pulling wool over everyones eyes for so long (he was assessed and turns out to be perfectly healthy), and have recently been at breaking point for the years of my life that have been wasted on this scumbag.

Anyway sorry for the rant, am happy but depressed at the same time, its a very strange feeling! I had to get h2b to read it, its no longer called an absolute for godknowswhy reason and was squealing like a mad banshee. Feels wierd to be typing here too knowing that im free at last and can offically start planning.

Thats fab hun and so quick, mine has taken loads longer than that for various reasons, only a couple of weeks until I can apply for my absolute and cant wait!

Congrats! you only got told you were divorced 2 months after the six weeks and one day was up?

Sorry to confuse you lovely people, the absolute was applied for 2 months ago, the whole divorce was started in december, petition went in during february and didnt get nisi granted til mid-april, i had visions of me having to apply for the absolute myself in september

why so long between applying for absolute and actually getting it?

i got my nisi a few weeks ago, wating on my absolout, hee hee cant wait, im going to have a divroce party, well a night on the town with my h2b and friedns lol

so far mine has taken 5 months xx

3 and a half years start to finish!!! should be all over for him 2mora!!

Jac1985, I live outside the uk and things have become different here, its no longer called an absolute (hence total confusion when I opened the envelope and wondered what the hell it was!), and everytime I rang the divorce court to see how things were going, they were extremely busy and refused to tell me anything due to data protection.

Fallen-angel, my divorce party was a total joke, we were camping so went for a walk in the rain, ended up in the nearest pub, h2b persuaded me to have a drink to celebrate and after half a tia maria, i was legless lol, I have quit drinking so a sniff of the bar towel will floor me lol. Was very different to my first divorce though, I knew it was coming and arranged to have a total makeover on the day and a good night out.

Freakily I 'knew' that my divorce had come, we were within reasonable travelling distance from home, and I told h2b that we had to go home that morning.
