not at all. I put on a lot of weight after having my last child - I put on just over four stone and i have lost about three and a half stone in 16 months.

being so close to my target, it has slowed down but i only need to lose a bit now so not too worried. Quite a few of my friends are doing herbalife or cambridge which although is hard to stick with at the start becomes easier after a while. i used slimming world online and it was great for me. I have a crunch fetish (or at least i did!) I am more into soups now. they are great for slimming cos you get all your vits and its not a lot of effort to eat.
My mates and I (on my mummy forum) do a challenge every week. one week it might be to run up and down teh stairs three times each way (often carrying baby etc) or a whole twenty mins on wii fit hula or somthing. they keep us motivated and fit in great with teh diet as it helps us tone up but doens'y have to be too prescriptive.
good luck. happy to stay here for support.

Hi Life 's wife2b - my weight is baby weight too. Well I was already 3st overweight when I got pregnant because of the ups&downs of trying etc and then I put on 3st during the pregnancy. My son is now 2&1/2 and since then I have lost 2 st put two back on,lost 3st,put back on two etc etc. I was a size 10/12 and now I have to shop in the "fat sections" of stores. Its isn't about wanting to look a completely different person just because i'm getting married like some people do for their weddings (which is fine) -its about wanting to look like me again. I think with only a year to go I have left it too late but I can still try my best with the time I have left. I am a fan of soups too, that and healthy eating was how I lost 3st this year but sadly I gained it all back again on crazy month long binges! Glad to hear how well you have done and that you are so near your target -well done!

These last few weeks have been hard. I have only just had first AF (arrived saturday morning - the morning of my sisters wedding!!). have to confess that i think the breast feeding helped more than any thing. I am usually a size 6 and am only one size up now but after having bubs, i couldn't even get the size 14 above my knees (no joke) and i was too disheartened to try any sizes up. I only feel like that because i am short tho. (only just over 5') and even as a six, i look like an average person who is a ten. (ratio wise)

I used to go thru binges. my vice is cake!!! thing is, i went off cake and fell in love with LINDOR choc. :-/ not good. lol.

Another challenge we tried (altthough i haven't done for a while) is the hula where you try each week to beat your top score. obv, this is no good if you haven't got wii fit but the stairs one is still good and you could always try and see how many trips up and down you can do in one go. next day, try and beat it. I was planning on going back to it. i am usually quite unmotivated but as it was with other ppl, i got quite competitive. lol

I am only 5ft 3 and I am way over a size 18 : ( when I was a size 10/12! I hate it!!! I love Lindor x

I have to fall out of love with food as I never used to be like this.I used to go to excersise classes 3/4x a week,go clubbing at weekends etc. I need to fall back in love with life and getting out and all that life has to offer and stop thinking a takeway, choc and wine are my best friends as they are the root of my problems lol. I haven't got a wii . I do quite a lot of walking, its just the getting home and having chocolate for breakfast or 3 pieces of toast that undoes the good work.I know what to do as I have done it before but its the doing it thats hard!

Just had a wii fit delivered today!!! I love the hula one!! Size 12 wedding dress here I come woo hoo! (ok would be happy with a 14 tbh!!!) Want to lose 2 stone by next Oct - reckon it can be done - I lost just over a stone between last Oct and Xmas but then kinda stopped at that weight, a few pounds have crept back on hence the wii fit purchase... but reckon if I really try it will come off - also going to start swimming again in the new year as a brand new pool is being built up the road from us. Its all planned out - just gotta get my a*se in gear and do it!!!

Off for dinner of chocolate and cake now (joking!)

xx

Hey Wedding Monster, wow that's brilliant well done - I was on SW too but found I stuck at 1st loss - kinda fell off the plan at the start of this year (1st anniversary of my mums passing - not an excuse but an explanation!) and just couldn't get back in it... found was only going to group for the social aspect - just losing and gaining the same pound each week which got really dis-heartening... so going to try and stick to principles of it but do more exercise but have stopped going to the group.

Princess, am sure you can do it too,. you already know you can ... but real life makes it hard to keep it up doesn't it - I find it hard cooking for both doug and I as he loves meat and 2 veg and not keen on things like salmon and tuna steaks or med veg which I love - tho things like SW curries have gone down well with him - so hopefully I'll get there - just got to avoid the bread aisle - french bread & cheese is my weakness!

niks, thats what i did. stuck with SW principles but did more exercise. Walking is deffo good but i realised i was so focussed on food, i forgot the exercise and decided i wanted to get active. i was in a group chatting to mums with babies born in may and we did a 'lose a stone for xmas' challenge. it was good cos i motivated us. we had ppl drop out as it was affecting milk supply and stuff but i was lucky that it didn't have an adverse effect so stuck with it. I have only actually lost a stone since last xmas but with all the extra exercise, i find my inch loss is better even when there is no weight loss. Many of my friends went on their inch loss as opposed to weight loss and they felt much more motivated.
one gave herself an allowance for every lb and cm lost but a gain had a forfeit of double (except AF week) which moivated her loads.

i found the hula really helped me trim my tummy cos i am hopeless with sit ups although i have a flap around the belly no matter how small i get. my brother alikened it to adam sandler in click after he loses the weight in the coma... lol

Hi girls, I'm so glad this thread is here. My motivation is awful so hopefully this will help! I'm also trying to lose baby weight, I really should get some scales so I can actually weigh myself.

Life - I hate that belly flap, the more weight you lose the more obvious it is!!!

Weddingmonster - So nice to hear from someone who has the same amount to lose as me rather than the skinny minis who are panicking about losing those last 3lbs in a year lol! What are you doing about your dress? Are you waiting? Have you got one? I am looking! I'm not planning on wearing a tradtional white dress so I don't have to worry about ordering a yr in advance etc but I am still panicking about finding anything. Everythings always so revealing in the back or boob or arm areas. I know you can get cover ups like shrugs, boleros etc but when they are on all day/night its so obvious that thats what they are.I'd rather something with sleeves so it looks like I just wanted it that way if that makes sense. Nik Niks my vices are bread and cheese too, aswell as crisps, choc, wine etc lol.
