hi i'm getting married 10/07/2010 at hogarths hotel dorridge and just wondered if there were any other brides to be out there getting married here too ?? would be great to compare notes !!

did you go to the wedding fair sunday ?? any tips or ideas ? we are having a bbq !! just hope we have the weather to go with it ! not getting married on the island though thought that was a bit OTT !! what have you organised so far ?? xx

we had our wedding reception at Hogarths over 12 months ago, was amazing, fan venue and brilliant team at Hogarths, you'll have a beautiful day they will really look after you well xxx

has anyone had the bbq ?? i had 1 bad report !! so bit worried whether to change it ! do you think there is time to take a dip in the bath in the bridal suite !!! i reckon me and all the bridesmaids are gonna get in the morning before , its huge !!

no we didn't opt for the BBQ, we had a Sunday wedding at 3pm so the main meal started at 6ish, so by 8:30 everyone was stuffed! also we didn't opt for an evening reception as such all our guests were there all day so we served cake, coffee and tea at 9pm then the live band were on until 11:30pm so everyone was fed and entertained without too much stress for us

we used the bath during the morning after, it is massive, good fun

are you having civil ceremony at Hogarths?

yep having ceremony there at 2 so presume food will be bout 4ish? having the bbq ,we wanted something bit less formal and on the evening having sausage sarnies!! my friend went there few weeks ago and said the bbq was not as good as she expected and the ceremony wasn't very personal so i have been panicking a bit ! what month did you get wed ? and what band did you have ? we have recently been to see one and they were fab Partners in crime?xx

I am a bit upset as when we booked we were told that we could extend bar till 1. We have now been told that we cant as it is a sunday dont really know what we can do

dont worry about ceremony dollop caz it will be personal if you add readings/songsetc to make it your own.

has anyone booked a string quartet if so who can they recommend

I got married at Hogarths on 5/9 this year, had the BBQ and thought it was very nice. We didn't have a late bar as we had a 1pm wedding so it was a long day anyway. Agree with the others re: the service - that's up to you and the Registrar but we had readings and some additional, personal vows, and we thought our service was lovely!

If anyone wants to know anything just drop me a mail and I will try and help!

Oh lovely, I think the BBQ will be fine, never had anything horrible at Hogarths, they've always served fab food!

We had a live band called king pleasure and the biscuit boys, my hubby is a big fan, they're on iTunes I think, they were very good

if you've seen the band you like and they impressed you then they sound like they'd be perfect. We saw the biscuit band a few times, just knew they were right for us xxx

Forgot to say, I'd mention how unhappy you are about the bar extension, is it Daniel that still does the wedding co-ordination?

Getting married on the island sounds fab! Xxx
