i just wrote you a whol long list of shops! then it wouldnt up load ahhhhh

basically google stleonards road or peascod street and you should find lots of shops may be worth just taking a trip to windsor and having a little explore.

there are quite a few little boutiques and things at the very bottom of town on the st leonards road which most people miss as they work their way up from the car park upwards towards tha car park. any questions email me

off top of my head tho martyn crossley flowers are beautiful

Hey all

Munchidink - thanks I will check them out, you do not happen to know any catholic churches in Windsor?

Rach - I went to see Oakley Court it was one of my options, I loved the grounds but I went to see the White House on the same day and feel in love with the chapel, have you seen it?

I have had a few friends go to weddings at Oakley Court and have not liked the food.........just warning you. May be better now though......

I am from Maidenhead originally and Oakley court is down the road..........

My cousin got married in the Harte and garter Windsor -opposite the castle......

Not my favourite place but good setting, have also heard that Christpher Wren is good.......Another friends friend got married their a few weeks ago.......

The Long Walk is agood place for photos..........

Brides cannot have a horse and carriage in the high street unless you get permission from the queen!!!!

Hope that helps a bit!

Browns is nice for Dinner out night b4 wedding, but i suggest you try and visit Windsor to get a good feel for the area. Windsor is expensive so you may find cheaper suppliers in Maidenhead or Slough(not the nicest area but florists etc may be cheaper.......

Hello Coco2010,
I'm getting married at Englemere in Ascot - it's a beautiful venue and they are so friendly and easy going. We looked at Oakley Court for our first night but decided to stay closer to the groom's family in Maidenhead instead.
We're actually getting married at a Catholic church in Maidenhead, St Edmund Campion. It's a bit modern (no big stained glass windows or anything) but the priest is friendly and H2B's parents were the first couple married in the sanctuary! Worth a look as it's only 20 min from Windsor.

Only problem with windsor suppliers are the price. Im sure they hike them up just because its windsor. Im getting married in Great Missingdon which is about half an hour from windsor to be between my family and my other halfs family, we are having an out doors pagan handfasting. Iv found no suppliers can top the internet so far so have a good search round and you can find everything you need (well is the post men stop striking that it lol)

We got married in, and live in, Windsor in June.
St Edward's is the catholic church in Windsor.
You need to get permission from the (Crown Estate) Rangers' Office to have photography on the Long Walk.
Please feel free to private message me if there are any specific suppliers you want. We used a photographer and florist from outside Windsor, but have great caterer recommendation and other pointers if you want them...

Hi Coco,

I'm so glad the church is sorted. As I'm not from the area I was really looking for a church that had a personal connection to the groom and for that reason we choose St Edmund Campion. It also helps that the best man looks after the priest's allotment on the weekends, haha

Question to the group - do you know if there are any good and cheap places to source flowers? I'll be making the centrepieces and church flowers with family members and don't know where to look. Thanks! xx

Hi Windsor wife

Unfortunately I cannot get married in St. Edwards as I am not local but I have found St. Joseph's in Maidenhead and the priest is happy to marry me there. The only thing I am worried about is there is no where for photos outside. The inside is beautiful though & similar to my local parish.

Thanks for the tip on the Long walk. I have a photography but maybe a florist contact would be useful, did you use anyone to decorate the venue?

Hi Jnix

That was my biggest stress, now I feel I can really start planning! Sorry I know nothing about flowers!

Hi Coco

I live in Ascot and am getting married at Wentworth on 11th September 2010. we looked at the White house, it is lovely, the chapel is beautiful, it was between there and Wentworth. Really hope to get St Edwards church in Windsor but not sure if they will have us either!

With regards to flowers, I have just had a quote from Lindy Cooke. Think she is based near Maidenhead. She came to my house and was so helpful. Her number is 07980 881010 lindy@lcflowers.co.uk or www.lcflowers.co.uk Her quote was really reasonable.

I have also got another one coming over next week. Not based in Windsor but covers our area. www.florish.co.uk so will see what she is like and let you know.

Have you got your dress yet? That really helps with the flower choice

x
