I am! You should go and have a look, it's really beautiful inside and out. My boyfriend was the one who was keen on it and I was worried the actual room you get married in would be really dull and registry office like but actually it's really nice. Quite like a church with all the stained glass.
My friend got married there last year and it was just amazing. You can see her wedding album in the portfolio section of www.fnsweddings.com it's the one called "Brendan & Karen" and there's also some pictures from her wedding under "manchester" in the portfolio section.
There's lots of little cooridoors and statues around and the floor where they had the drinks reception (just outside the main room) has mosaic bees on it. There's stone steps up to is and the main room was just fantastic. The food was gorgeous too. They didn't have the ceremony there. That was as a church in Worsley. One of the best weddings I've been to and I've been to a few just recently - seems my friends are that age where they're all finally getting married!
We're having our reception there - I love it. So dramatic. I love the fact that when I tell people it's at the Town Hall, they clearly imagine some 60s civic concrete monstrosity - I can't wait for them to see it !
Plus, the rooms are so amazing it really won't need much decoration at all.
We looked at some other city centre venues, but there was no competition for us really.
Have you been round it? They do wedding tours on a Saturday morning (probably other days too but that's when we went).
