30th october brides

any one getting married on the 30th october?
why did you choose that date?


me and my fincee were going to get married on the 23rd august,
but last october we were in asda looking at all the halloween stuff.
my fincee turns round and say why don't we get married next halloween then you can have your gothic twist.
i couldn't believe he came up with. i feel in love with the idea striaght away.
thats how we got the date 30th october.

Yes, I'm marrying my wonderful Fiance on the 30th too.

We chose October as waiting for my brother and his girlfriend (my MOH) to return from travelling around the world, and chose the 30th as wanted to make sure that my honeymoon wouldnt overlap with any school holidays so chose the Saturday after half term! 375 days to go and counting... x x x

Yep we're getting amrried on 30th OCtober too. The reason we picked that date is because it will be our 7th anniversary - this way h2b won't have to start trying to remember another date lol!!!

How's the planning going? I'm off to try dresses on for the first time this weekend - dreading it as although my wedding diet is working I havent been on it very long and i'm so worried that nothing will fit or the women in the shop will be mean to me!!!! Guess my BM will give them short shrift if they but still I so wish i was slim again already lol

Ooooh Hope you have a great time shopping MrsB2bee!! Try not to worry about any of it - it's supposed to be such a wonderful experience, and if any of the shops are rude they don't deserve your custom!
So far I've got my dress, bridesmaids dresses, venue and church booked. Still lots more to go... what about you? x x x

So far have booked the registrar, florist, venue for ceremony and reception including food and drink, wind quintet to play us up the ailse and through the meal, photographer and chai covers/bows etc lady. Looking for a ceilidh band at the moment and then in the new year it will be BM and groomsmen outfits. Just crossing fingers we save enough up lol!!!

I have brand new white strapless bra and matching boy shorts all ready for the weekend, just hoping to avoid total humiliation!!

We are also getting married on 30th October 2010.
We had originally planned for the 2nd October but for whatever reason the date got shuffled about a bit and then we arrived at 30th October!!!:\?

So far we have booked the venue, photographer and florist and are currently looking for a band.

I have had a few appointments to look at dresses - haven't found anything that I like in the slightest so far!!! Have another appointment this weekend.

What kind of colour schemes/themes is everyone having? I'm not having any bridesmaids but am planning on having a purple colour theme with the flowers etc.

Miss L-S purple sounds lovely. I have a feeling I'm going to be like you re Wedding Dresses - I seem to be missing that particular gene!!

My colours are Copper, green and Ivory x

I'm going for purple and Ivory.... Mostly Ivory though! I don't want too much Purple... just on bridesmaids dresses and maybe a bit of ribbon here and there... I'm going to have ivory/cream flowers etc as I like things quite plain and traditional looking! x x x

So how many guests is everyone having?
Our wedding is going to be relatively small with just 35 guests during the day and going up to 60 at night. We found a venue that we both love and that kind of determined the size of the wedding for us!!!!

my colour theme is black red and deep purple.
i've got 45 comeing to the wedding and about 170 odd coming to the evening.

Miss L-S you're the only person other than h2b who hasn't in the politest way possible more or less said wtf? lol nevermind it isn't their wedding!

We're having about 75 to the day and probably the same plus 10/20 for the evening as most people will have to travel so they are either invited to the whole thing or not at all. Neither of us has big families but h2b seems to want everyone he ever served with there so it's bigger than i thought it would be.

Mrsb2bee - How do you mean - with the colours? I liked the sound of it because I thought it sounded original and would be nice and fresh looking. Have you thought about what you are going to use to incorporate the copper colour?

Are you just going to the one dress shop this weekend? How is everyone getting on with the dress shopping? Mrs Stephenson to be - have you been looking yet? I have only been to two shops so far but I have another appointment this Saturday morning.

Take it your h2b was or is in the forces? When we initially discussed guest lists my h2b talked about inviting some of the blokes he worked with - problem being he has worked all over the place!!!! However the venue that we eventually decided on means that we will need to keep it relatively small.

Littlesteph - your flowers sound lovely too - very dramatic, I love red and purple together - you said that you were going with a slightly gothic theme didn't you? Are you having any bm's?

MissL-S, hope you have fun dress shopping at the weekend! I'm so jealous I'd love to do it all again!!

We're having about 60 to the day and an extra 60 to the evening I think, but my friends live all over the country so it depends if they can all make it or not!

Yeah I've already got my dress I saw in on the Maggie Sottero website and loved it, didn't think it would suit me though until I tried it on at a designer day and loved it!! Here it is...

Mrs Stephenson-to-be you look fantastic in that dress!! I may have to send you out shopping for one for me lol. Have you got your shoes and accessories yet??

Screen has gone all funny for some reason so I can't read everything but yes going for copper being brought in with either copper coloured things or actual copper ie the table crystals look copper coloured but we have actual coper tea light holders and copper wire twirls and whirls in the flower arrangments if that makes sense. Struggling to find copper BM dresses atm but hoping to have a look in the bridal shops while we are there this weekend. 2 shops this weekend then 1 next weekend and 1 weekend after.
