10th of September - 188 days to go!

Hello lovely ladies,

I notice there is few 10th of September brides kicking about now so thought i would get a wee thread on the go for us.

It's only 269 days to go!!! Can you believe that!

How's everyone's plans going? Not sure about you girls but with Christmas coming up things are sort of on hold just now and will hit the wedding planning again after Christmas.

So...... where is everyone getting married and what planning have you done??

Here's a run down for me (feel free to copy and paste for your day)

From: Scotland
Engaged: 2nd of January 2009, New York
Wedding: 10th of September 2010 (obviously!!)
Wedding Venue: Malcesine Castle, Lake Garda, Italy
Total Guests: approx 80 (invites went out Sept to give 1 years notice)
Wedding Website: Done
Wedding Planner: Yes - and is my photographer ( woo hoo 2 birds with one stone !! )
Dress: Ordered in Oct Caroline Castigliano, Godiva. Edinburgh
Bridesmaid Dress: Ordered 4 BM dresses in November, Jim Heljm maxi dresses all different colours 2 different styles)
Menu: done
Flowers: done
Music: done
Honeymoon: 2 nights in Rome 10 days in Las Vegas.


Still to get kilt organised, wedding rings, documents and honeymoon booked.

So fire on ladies!!

Bridesmaid Dress: Ordered 3 BM dresses last week, lovely chiffon Forever Yours in Blue.
Menu: done
Flowers: Hydrengeas
Music: Not sorted yet
Honeymoon: Hopefully, Sardinia.

Getting really exciting now.

Of course you can the more the merrier!! I'm not sure where all the 10th of Sept brides have disappeared to anyway!!

What colour Hydrengeas are you having? There is so many nice ones! I think i'm going with hot pink to match my shoes then put the BM's in cream boquets.

That sounds lovely. 2 of my bridesmaids are in blue so my Mum thinks i should mix blue in my pink boquet - what do you think?

It's bright blue and pink so might be quite punchy!!

I think pink flowers and blue dresses will be really striking, i personally wouldn't bother with blue flowers too.

We haven't booked our honeymoon yet... H2b is being tight! lol.... We like the idea of Sardinia or Greece.

Are you having a traditional dress.??... i have ordered a vintage lace fishtail number.

Hi! I'm a 10 Sept bride - 281 days to go!!!

Engaged: 14 Nov 08 in Caya Coca, Cuba
Wedding: 10th of September 2010
Wedding Venue: All Saints Church then reception in the Bailgate, Lincoln
Total Guests: Inviting 106 in the day and a further 150 (approx) at night.
Wedding Website: No
Wedding Planner: No, can't afford one but i'm loving the planning side of it.
Dress: Maggie Sottero Fleur, order in Apr 09 and now in the shop - woo hoo.
Bridesmaid Dress: Jade Green Knee length prom dresses with ivory sash and ivory accessories
Menu: Canapes, meat carvery, pudding, then hog roast at night. All washed down with punch on arrival, wine at the table and cocktails for the toast.
Flowers: Ivory roses and gerberas
Music: DJ and maybe a band if we have some money left over
Honeymoon: Surprise organised by h2b - apparently 4 days someone cool and 14 days somewhere really hot. Trying not to guess to much!

I've also put planning on hold for a while with Christmas and i'm a bridesmaid for my friend on 19 Dec so it's been hen parties galore. We booked the venue in Sept this year and since then time has absolutely flown so i'm aware that i need to get organised after New Year.

Next on my list is suit hire and my underwear, shoes, hair accessories and veil. I am hoping that i can maybe pick some bargains up in the new year. I need to start making the stationery soon too. Ooh now i'm thinking about it, i might actually start doing some of this in the Christmas break as my 'to do list' in my head is getting longer and longer.

Can wait till Jan 1 when we can say we're getting married THIS year. xxx

Well i was planning pink for me then just cream for the girls and my mum suggested pink and blue boquet for me and cream for the girls - i'm confused now,


I thought of having the girls with mixed blue and pink bouquets or the two bridesmaids dressed in pink with blue bouquets and the two dressed in blue with pink bouquets!! Think i'm looking too much into it ha!!

What do you think?? I'm so confused!!


Not having a tradtitional dress really. It's slinky but not too slinky - it still has a big train, wanted somethng a bit sexy and different but still weddingy if you know what i mean.

I almost bought a fishtail vintage lace Pronovias dress with cathedral veil it was stunning. It was a hard choice between the two but the sexy glamour of the other one took preference for italy.

Hey Lincsbride - you sounds really organised!! I've let my man pick the honeymoon too but not as a surprise ha! Don't know how you do it!!

A hog roast sounds fab - i've heard loads of people doing that - i've never seen it done before!

How is all the planning going? Everyone set for Xmas?

I had a dilema with my BM dresses - ad o change the colours as they were disconntinued!

Got four bridesmaids now one in Raspberry Pink, one in apple green, one in bahama breeze blue and one in cobalt blue.

It took them to weeks to tell me as well was raging ha!

Sorted now though - hopefully te swatched will come soon and they will look ok together!

I have everything booked now.... just got hair trials, and final appointments to do now.

I am defo going to be using the January Sales to my advantage and hopefully pick up accessories and gifts. Having a little bit of a break over the xmas period to spend more time with my family and lovely fiance.

What part of the wedding prep is everyone looking forwards to and not looking forward to the most??

I can't wait to try my dress on for the first time, but not looking forwards to the diet before hand!

Oh and I really can't wait to buy the wedding rings.
